Nervous or Excited? · 6:59am Jul 2nd, 2014
It is a valid question to ask myself. Do I feel nervous or excited with what I'm about to talk about? I can't sleep for one and as those who fallow my blogs know that I do a lot more thinking about things that seem more serious. Tonight I'm going to try something a bit light hearted, try.
I want to start getting into remixing and DJing seriously so I've come up with various ideas (just remixes alone takes up a gig of memory on the Notes app for my iPod) but those are being pushed aside (well to the back of my chances of doing) in order for the start of my DJing practice. I'll be making a "Raver's Dream" mix under the name I have come to (finally) adopt as my DJ/Producer handle.
Urban Graffiti, this name came from an idea for a club I want to own one day. I myself love rave music almost as much as I hate my full-time job. It got me thinking though about how glowsticks, black lights and other various visual elements go into a rave. I wanted to make it familiar but different at the same time, (it's helpful to think of this as a bi-monthly event) so I thought of how we could have Graffiti artists come in before the event and using various UV reactive paints they could go at it and create whatever they feel would belong.
Anyway now that I'm sidetracked from the original thought I was going to share/talk about... Okay, first; if you are a raver/trance/house/ect. fan please tell me songs that you would love to see in the remix. Second; if a song that is suggested isn't put in it doesn't mean I don't like it, just that I couldn't make it work. Third; I will be using other things besides "typical" rave music, example: Love Drunk by Boys Like Girls, Check Yes Juliet by We the Kings, and other songs that naturally uplift my mood (so basically music I heard in high school.) Forth and finally; I might even have a song I make in it, might.
Oh I lied one more thought. Don't be afraid to say something that you have made (honestly would love to get your music out to a wider audience.)
Well this post is currently the most doubtful thing to do because I would be making way to many exceptions so I'm sorry to say this "ravers mix" isn't going to be happening for a long time. I do have one that's a metal mix/rock opera thing but I love metal so much that it's purely for fun. There will be a story based off of it but that is also going to be for fun and said story will most likely be a graphic novel over anything else.
