I make really stupid stories, but it's fine since I enjoy making them.

    Anyone still around?

I'm back and I'm thinking of going back into the fray. I hope to uncover some skeletons I have in my closet and make peace with the community while I'm at it. For one, I'm really impressed with how much the aesthetic and design of the website has upgraded. Anyone can keep me up to date with any interesting developments? Firstly, anyone still around?

    Thanks

Even today, I'm still getting notifications of people shelving my works into their libraries. I find this extremely flattering, thank you all. Though it's far away, the past is still dear to me. To think that something that I did a year or two ago is still making some impact today, it's an amazing thing. But old clothes are meant to be grown out of, I'm afraid.

    A little announcement

Yeah i did say that i'd never be online again but i guess i lied... but the thing i didn't lie about is me not making any more stories. At least not on this account. Which comes to the subject of this blog: Will I make a comeback?

    Bye bye.

This announcement comes after an argument I had with my mom just a while ago, it was over really petty stuff so I won't elaborate on that in this blog post. But I will say that it did bring to light the importance for closure and clarification, which I'm going to strive for in this blog post.

    Damn.

Guys, I don't feel like I'm a brony anymore. I don't have that motivation to view pony-related content and stuff. It must really be because I browse reddit a lot... But then again, this phase would come eventually, I think.

Well · 12:42pm Jul 1st, 2014

Alright something's happened recently that's disappointing as heck. My little bro waits 2 months for Dad to buy him a PC, paid for from my bank account and my bro's wallet too, amounting to 60 SG dollars (I think this is around 40 to 50 USD) per person. First day with it, nothing happens, we're cool and playing games and stuff. I got to play for a duration of about 70 to 80 minutes and I can't say that it was the best experience but whatever. Next day (today) I find him in his school clothing and on the com. Well, I knew that this wouldn't sit well with my mom if she caught him doing this since she's against all the 'playing games straight home after school' bullshit. But whatever, I go for my drum lessons, then the next thing I know I'm at the dinner table with my family, my little bro crying over his bowl of rice while getting lectured by Mom about how his gaming habits would lead him to become a nobody when he grows up, using the 'I SUFFERED MORE THAN YOU IN MY YOUTH YOU DON'T APPRECIATE THINGS' card and overall not making things easy for the guy. And the com room is locked. All slippery slope arguments and emotionally driven admonishments that were derived from observations of him playing about less than 5 hours on the com. Well.

It's worse when I find a message written in the fogged up glass from shower steam in the bathroom which reads: "2 months of waiting. 2 days of playing." I'd have found it pretty pathetic on any other day but when I understand that my mom can't handle her emotions well, I'd have to agree with him on the assumed grounds that he found it a great injustice that Mom took away the computer (which, I'd have to remind everyone again, was paid for using 120 dollars with the 'consent' of both my parents).

I think that my Mom really needs somebody to help her with her emotions. She's becoming more and more unbearable.

I almost wish I had a mother like that sometimes, but my dad is the same as your mom, so I understand your pain. Well, your anger and your brother's pain. Just near with it until you are finally out of the house. As I see it, what your parents teach you are suggestions. Take what you like, but make your own life the way you want it.

Also, you are a drummer? My man! Been playing them since I was but a wee boy.

2248294 I'm not getting out of the house for about 2 more years. That's when I go into the army (it's compulsory for able-bodied 18 year old males to attend over here). Plus, I'm not really angry. I've accepted that my mom can't be reasoned with since she's such an emotional wreck when we touch controversial topics. It's a fact of life that I've come to terms with; nothing to be angry over. My siblings don't take her on because she's simply that unreasonable. Plus, she's the type of person who'd regard everything in the house to be 'my' or 'mine' so to her children, contesting her would be construed as biting the hand that feeds us.

Plus yeah, I do play the drums and I used to be really passionate about it. But I got rock music battered out of me by gaming and academics. But mostly by academics.

Where is "over here"? I know it is presumptuous, but are you Asian by chance?

2248345 Yes I am and I'm proud of it. I'm not Asian-American, I'm pure Asian by blood but I'm a hipster, somewhat. I like ponies in a conservative society for crying out loud!

And 'over here' is Singapore. We are still really conservative despite heavy influence from the American media and the ubiquity of smartphones. It's the whole racial and religious harmony rules that are set here that's keeping us conservative by encouraging tradition, in my honest opinion, but I'd rather have a harmonious society rather than a over-the-top liberal one, which Singapore could potentially evolve into.

I don't like talking about my country on the internet. It's because there are so many people patrolling it at all times, haha. There's at least a case every month about somebody 'misusing' internet social media and getting driven out by death threats and stuff like that because they insulted Singapore or disrupted racial/religious harmony in some way. Funny thing is, most of these people fly to Australia.

Singapore, eh? Cool. But I'm not really all dead set on conservatism, especially since a conservative government so far has done nothing but drive America into the ground. But them again, liberals are no better. I honestly believe that no one political ideology is correct to rule. Combining the two only makes sense because both sides have pros and cons. But that's me.
