Crusaders of the Lost Mark (Spoilers Be Here)

Usually don't bother doing a blog post about episodes because I don't have much to say, but given the storyline significance of the episode and the fact it is the 5th anniversary I guess it makes sense.

In case the title didn't clue you in then warning, spoilers ahead.

    Sometimes

Sometimes I just want things to be alright. Sometimes I just want things to be simple. Sometimes I just want to do what's right. Sometimes we all make mistakes. Sometimes we all get a bit mad.

And sometimes I just want it to all to stop.

Giving Up · 3:55am Jun 30th, 2014

Giving up on WWE to be specific. I want SO much to like the company and they have some truly legendary talents, whether they be legends of bygone eras like Kane who can still go or modern day legends such as.... well.... uhhh....

Yeah, the newest iteration of WWE has basically been sucking the big one for some time past 2011-ish. No new stars, the same tired fools trying desperately to get a single person with more than two brain cells to rub together to cheer for them rather than wonder if they walked in the wrong door on their way to the latest concern.

And then we started to see hope. The rise of CM Punk, the Ryder Revolution, Daniel Bryan's big push... for once WWE was trying something new in the 21st century and it was WORKING. The addition of some of the most memorable teams of the last decade in the Wyatt Family and The Shield only added to how much this new way of running things was working. The pattern was clear, out with the old, in with the new.

But no. We've now seen that this will not happen. Because of the one name that WWE will associate itself with until it finally burns to the ground and dies a slow, painful death.

John Cena.

John Cena. Is repulsive. And I am being absolutely serious. Everything the man represents makes me want to turn off my television in disgust, to see young performers be shoved into the back never to be seen again or fed just to fuel a career which never got off the ground in the first place, WWE could care less if it died so long as it dies in the name of Cena.

And I will be happy, WWE, to stand back and watch you burn down your houses, your rings, your locker rooms, whatever else you have left to burn, because tonight you took a look at the fire that had been burning you down for the last year, noticed it was going out and chucked as much kerosene on that damned thing as possible.

Take a good long look. Anyone who was ever a fan of wrestling, throw out your beloved memories. Forget all those times Undertaker tombstoned a guy into an early grave, forget about the times The Rock showed you why he was the People's Champion, never even dare to remember Mick Foley's legendary endurance or Stone Cold Steve Austin's stomping a mudhole in any corporate stooge who tried to push him around

Because that's not what WWE wants to be about. What it wants to be about is this; John Cena, the very epitome of pandering, lying through his teeth, untalented, hackjob, gormless, mindless, in your face obnoxious and product destroying little shit to ever set foot in any wrestling ring. And yes, that includes Hulk Hogan.

Forget them all. Forget all our legends, forget all our champions, forget your legendary matches and all the times we saw guys bust their ass to get just a sniff of the titles before earning their way to greatness.

Because that isn't what matters.

"The Champ. Is. Here!"

Yes John, yes he is. But who's champion is he? Because let me tell you, John Cena, you may hold a title belt, but you know jackshit about being a champion, either in reality or within the scripted realms of professional wrestling.

I would say the day you retire will be one of celebration John but let's be real, we all know a "retired" professional wrestler is about as permanent as a "retired" actor. So we will never be free from you. Not like it matters, the damage is done anyway.

John Cena.

Then.

Now.

Forever....

The Rock isn't still around; he pops up for cameos maybe twice a year if you're lucky; Kane is walking around in suit pants and Big Show... well they've not made him look credible for years.

And yes, I will judge it based on how they book one person because that one person is all they care about. They constantly feed young upcoming stars to Cena when the fans despise Cena and just want him out of the title picture. Hell even after this blog post when they had Lesnar beat Cena they immediately backtracked.

Also the Network got rid of PPV prices, which is very nice (usually it was far too expensive for me).

You clearly are not up to speed on this stuff; this is a LONG TERM problem, it's been going on since at least 2010, maybe even sooner (I wasn't watching from 2008-2009), and it's well known.

And no, they do not have respect for them; go track down the interview Vince McMahon did where he calls all their young stars lazy millenials and that only Cena is pushing himself properly, or else take a gander at the entire Royal Rumble 2014 debacle.

If you want to talk on something like this try taking a look at how they've treated their other stars and try and tell me with a straight face they respect them. CM Punk's podcast would be a good idea to listen to as well, he's got a few choice words for how they treat their stars.

Hardly; when WWE has good matches, they're still good. Dean Ambrose Vs Seth Rollins has been an amazing feud almost from start to finish (got a little slow when Dean vanished for a month but hey, small nitpicks), the video games are still fun. I don't really see the point of Slam City but it's an amusing distraction.

I don't hate everything WWE does. It's why I haven't made any other blog posts addressing it; Money in the Bank was the last time I really felt angry enough at the WWE that I needed to vent. Since then they've made a lot of bad calls and stupid decisions but nothing rant inducing. Even their use of Cena has been bearable at times, such as Survivor Series 2014.
