    Buckle Up

New chapter is entering revision phase. As per my last blog post, please use spoiler tags where appropriate.

Also buckle up. It's going to be a wild ride.

    Concerning Spoilers

I would like to remind readers of Equestrian Horizon that spoilers in comments should be covered with the requisite markup tags or avoided in the first place. This will be relevant now more than ever. Just saying.

    Defect

Things I discovered writing this piece:

    • I suck at naming stories and chapters.
    • I suck at writing synposes.
    • I cannot post pieces to FiMFiction without titles or synposes, so my terrible ones will have to suffice.
    • I only have a partial idea of how to write Tempest, but also a desire to do so which is infuriating.

    I'm not dead

So I got sucked into Final Fantasy XIV and left Equestrian Horizon to languish unfinished. Then my computer died.

All data is safely backed up on separate drives or in the cloud but I am sans gaming rig for the time being. I am still going to attempt to finish EH by the end of the year. The next chapter, Ouroboros, is done and currently in the proofing and revision phase.

    Onward.

Preface · 5:05am Jun 25th, 2014

I know most of you were expecting Chapter 5 by now, but I'm a bit ashamed to admit it's only about halfway done. However, I had a side thought based on some feedback I received a while ago.

One of the key problems with getting recognition before was the in media res style of writing. The EQD prereader reported that he was immediately overwhelmed by the prologue; he had no idea what was going on and why it was going on. While I can't provide an entire book's worth of context in just a few paragraphs, I will try my best to do so in the preface, which has just gone live.

"On the Precipice of War" covers some of the historical context before the main story kicks off and segues into the introduction of LTC Firefly as the main character. Hopefully this will help lessen some of the culture shock of being immersed in a completely different world with different organizations and characters.

Happy reading, everypony!

PS: Music links are back in :)
