Displaced: The Animation - Please Read · 8:04pm Jun 2nd, 2012
This afternoon, while tossing songs and ideas back and forth, DarkxRedemption and I had an interesting idea.
After I half-jokingly told him 'I think "I'll Fly Higher" would make a great ending sequence during an animated version of Displaced,' he told me 'We need to find someone to do that'. It hit me then that Displaced, for the most part, would probably translate fairly well into an animation. While writing the story, I've been imagining it in a fairly cinematic sense, so I reckon there'd be no real issue seeing it transition. The only real issue would be staffing. I'm extremely behind on my understanding of flash animation, and Darkx is no better off. Then there's the backdrops, background music, sound effects, and voice acting. This would of course be no small undertaking, even if we did this in an episodic manner. It would probably take a year of collaborative work to complete such a task, at the very least.
As for why I've actually made this post, I'd like to question to you, the readers.
-Do you think that Displaced would translate well into an animated series?
-Would you like to see an animated series for Displaced?
I'd very much like to hear back from as many of you as possible regarding the subject. Any ideas or opinions would be very welcome.
It would certainly be interesting to see. But I've got a feeling it might not compare to the quality of the fic so far.
Don't let that discourage you though, I'm sure you'll prove me wrong.
Best of luck!

I sense ALOT of hard work ahead is you wich to not have that "rushed" feeling when watching.

All of my yesses!
I also say yes. I like to see this being in animation form. However you do have a lot that needs to be done.
... I dunno. Personally, Seven, the way you do the characters would transcribe perfectly to video, but I think backdrops and surrounding scenery could easily destroy it if not handled right. Most stories usually don't have an avidly detailed discription of the surroundings, which allows the readers to fill in the blank. However, that obviously proves an issue when applied to television.
Ramblings aside, I wouldn't mind watching Displaced get animated as long as it's a serious attempt.
But I think you should wait on producing it until you have the finished story published. Maybe spend some effort building up the foundation in the meantime.
Although, I could just be spouting stuff you already know or is completely irrelevant.
