Nearly Done - DAFAM Chapter 13 · 7:20pm Jun 20th, 2014
So this is it, the second to last chapter. Next week will be Chapter 14 "Epilogue" as I call it. Wrapping up everything and calling it the end. It's been a good run and I can't wait to start my next story. I don't really have a whole lot to talk about for Chapter 13. It came together pretty early on. Twilight makes her decision and it's final. Some of you might be saying "But wait Soft Story! Was Luna real?"... To which I shall simply say: "Was she?"
Once again bit shout out to everyone in the comments and my pre-readers / editors. Everyone has been very supportive and I'm sure my next story will be better because of it.
Anyway, back to work for me.
-- Soft Story
There's a big difference between leaving things ambiguous, and giving a cop-out ending. Leaving things ambiguous would be if you never had the stuff with Luna in the first place, and left it ambiguous whether or not Twilight belonged in that world. As it is now, it seems like you just forced 'deepness' where it's highly unnecessary at best, and ruining the story at worst. I'm not thinking about the story and what it means, I've just got a bad taste in my mouth.
2221938 Well we disagree on that point. Before I had written the Luna plot it felt very much like a story where Twilight's memories were clearly false and it was about her learning to adjust to the new world. There really wasn't an ambiguous feeling once we got past the initial set up of the story. So I decided to come up with a way to attempt to add that feeling in using what I felt was a way that would still allow the story I wanted to tell happen. I'm sorry you dislike it.
I agree with BLTMunch.
I've got to say nothing about the reality you created for Twilight felt believeable and from the second she woke up I was preparing for the twist where this was the dream.
So I have to say you need to work on your world building, but I probably won't be around to see it.
I reserve final judgement for this story after it finishes, although I will say I hope you give us some solid answers before we get off this crazy story train.
