New Soul Crushing Story: "Waiting"

Well, for the first time ever, I have written a short fic within a day. Let's hope it doesn't suck.

"Waiting"

I basically woke up yesterday feeling a bit... mopey and existential, and whipped up this story. It's essentially an immortality fic, cranked up to 11. How it means not only watching friends die, but watching the world die as well. Hopepully it isn't too soul crushing.

I hope you guys enjoy it. Depending on the response, I might want to try submitting this to Equestria Daily, but it is about 1000 words short of the minimum length requirement, so any feedback that might help me expand the story (not uselessly pad) is greatly appreciated.
