E3 2014 Press Conferences Review · 11:08pm Jun 10th, 2014
I've been working on chapters for FE and a new fic, but E3 has dominated my time since yesterday.
Here are my impressions of the press conferences.
Microsoft: Great conference, with their focus on games instead of hardware. (Halo: Master Chief Collection and Sunset Overdrive will keep probably Xbox players glued to their Xboxes for weeks.
EA: Can you say 'WORST COMPANY IN AMERICA?' Sure, the Battlefield demo is great, but I feel that they might be trying too hard to compete with Call of Duty. And the 'trailers' (if you can even call them that) for Mass Effect 4 and Star Wars Battlefront were terrible, they basically screamed, "They aren't done, and are nowhere near done, but EA wanted them for the conference anyway."
Ubisoft: Best conference next to Nintendo. Energetic, fun to watch, and AC Unity. I really don't need to say anything else.
Sony: It was....iffy. That's the only word I can describe it with, iffy. They had a great start with Destiny, but the guy who was talking about HARDWARE killed the conference. They needed to announce more games, especially when Microsoft, Sony's rival company, had their conference solely focused on games. Uncharted 4. Arkham Knight, and the Ratchet movie looked badass though.
Nintendo: Was anyone shocked when the ROBOT CHICKEN animation came out of nowhere at the beginning? This conference/digital event (potato/patato) was great. Really hyped for Smash Bros. for 3DS and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Really excited for those games, since the original Ruby was my childhood.
Here's to another E3! Let's hope that they announce Half-Life 3 at E3 2015!
