I don't really know why... · 1:47am Jun 10th, 2014
... But I came up with an insane idea recently. Lemme explain:
Okay, I dunno if I already told you guys, but I have the habit to write stories on the last pages of my Maths notebook during boring classes. Most of them aren't MLP related, and include RPG elements, Fallout alternate paths and more stuff that I don't really remember right now. I end up always throwing them away after the 10th page, unfortunately. Now, well, I want to shoot for the stars rather than the birds (This didn't make sense, I know)
Recently, I was writing a RPG based story during English class and I snapped an idea: "What about doing a book? Like, a large and long story for real? Something serious to the core?" I got quite inspired by this thought and decided to concentrate deeply on it. I think that it explains why I'm taking so long to write a new chapter. After that, I asked my parents about how do you publish a book. They explained it to me and stuff, and of course, in the end of the conversation, they asked the reason why.
When I told them, I was quite surprised to discover that they really supported their son's ambitious dream. This dream had quite the downhill when I thought: "Would the critics even read a book written by a 13 year old?" It seems pretty crazy, huh? A 13 year old brat shooting for the impossible. Meh, I actually started the project today. I already have the continent where it'll be set, and I'm doing the process of detailing a kingdom right now (4 more kingdoms to go).
My brain made me go so deep in it that I actually am going to write a big ass background on it, containing the protagonists, kingdoms, religions, cultures and creatures inhabiting my world. If the publishing thing really works, I won't give the reader this background: I'll make them discover it, learn it as they read. Well, there might be that pretty cool map of the continent on the first pages.
Meh. Listen to me ramble about the impossible. I'm just glad to tell you people my plan, and I hope to actually reach for something bigger than just a friend's thumbs up (In real life).
SteelxPaladin, dreaming hard.
I want a copy when its done man, I will pay for early access to it man it sounds cool bro and remember if you believe you can do it then you can, trust me I have been trying to write a few books, like real books, I'm half way through the first in the huge series I'm going to write and cant wait till I finish it and I feel like your would be super cool like the rest of your works man, can't wait for it to hit the shelves, so until then I will wait in the shadows of the nearest book store.
Hello fellow freedom fighter, I think that your dream is a possibility without question. I think that you should not be judged by your age for a story, but for the content. And I think that you out of all people are able to succeed, I believe that this dream will become a reality.
And I kind of know where you were coming from on this, because before I even created my account, I used the back of my notebook to draw tanks, soldiers, and even the occasional pony. I got the idea for my story while also doodling, for I was drawing a Vanguard with a pony on the top of the turret.
Now I know what I thought was nothing of the scale you are planning, but after seeing your stories, I think you have a great possibility in this. But hey! If a screw-ball like me can get more likes than dislikes on my story, then you already have this in the bag!
NCPony, signing off.
Damn man, keep goin'! I fully support this idea!
I can't wait to see what you come up with. Hey, my (former) favorite author, Christopher Paolini, wrote a NY Times bestselling novel at 15, then proceeded to write three more. He's an amazing guy (especially since I got to meet him and he seemed to think I was cool enough to stay after the show when everyone else had left and talk to me for another 20 minutes eeeeeeeeeee)
Just write from your heart, and your soul. I'm looking forward to experiencing the world you're building!
