    Where I've been...

It’s getting harder to write with swype (pain-wise) for some reason. I’m thinking of going back to voice, although there’s still the hesitancy I feel due to the pain reaction. Whenever I think of writing, there’s the anticipation of pain, and it makes me procrastinate like no one’s business. Writing with voice isn’t much help because of how fast my voice hurts from it (I really have to enunciate

Progress Report - and bonus art!!

The moving process has been delayed due to work dragging their feet on the transfer. Oh, also, the old car I was borrowing from a friend finally gave up and died. Wife and I finally got a vehicle of our own and Sweet Celestia's Beard insurance is expensive in Alberta. Hopefully the move gets done soon.

    Good news bad news

Good news! The chap is written and off to the editors as of today. As soon as it's done, it'll be posted, no matter where in the month it is. Shall start writing on the next chapter immediately!

News Update! · 5:26am Jun 9th, 2014

Been a bit since I blogged. Time for an update!

I’m safely here in the US. And a few days after I got here, I got something in the mail.

My Permanent Residency visa.

At long last, my visa is here. I can move to Canada as a permanent resident, and be with my wife.

This does mean Rites will be delayed even more, sadly. It’s the worst case scenario for Rites in the short term. But, it means I can get treatment without huge expenses, so long term it’s one of the best options. My doc gave me some painkillers to help in the meantime, but I can only use those at night when I don’t plan on driving for some time.

The move will be at the end of July, so I’ll be here a couple months. :( At least this is the last time I have to sit here for an extended period. Meantime, I’ll be resuming editing (haven’t done any lately) and start the packing process, deciding what comes with and what doesn’t. I already have a few large plastic bins full of electronics to recycle.

All in all, a lot of reduction in inventory has to happen, so to speak. I have ONE Civic coupe to pack stuff in. Everything else wither stays here or gets tossed, recycled, freecycled, or sold.

So, yeah. No treatment until early August when I land. I have only painkillers until then. Most of the next couple months will be Tales games, packing, and if pain allows, editing. Tomorrow is mostly move-related stuff. If I can actually get to the grocery store and get real food to cook I can not worry about going places so much and take one of those painkillers. (Can’t be on those and drive.)

As for the cover art, I haven’t had a chance to contact many of the artists yet. Things have just been crazy busy. I do have a list of folks now, though. (Feel free to suggest more in the comments.) Thus, that’ll be a thing soon, hopefully.

Even when I’m quiet here I’m frequently in chat, so feel free to hop in!

That’s about all I had to say for now. With me luck, guys! The day of the big move is finally on the horizon!!

No chat tonight? Good though that you can now become a permanent Canadian citizen. As for Rites, I will wait patiently for the time when you're able to get back to writing on it.

Congratulations of becoming a permanent resident of Canada! Glad to hear things are going well for you in that regard.

happy to hear things are starting to move in the right direction! painkillers will at least help you sleep well, and a couple of months will be gone before you know :pinkiehappy: see you in chat :twilightsheepish:

No worries, man. You being able to get treatment is by far more important than us waiting on Rites. We'll be here when you're healthy and able to write more.

Congratulations on getting that visa, Cv.

Congratulations!

All the reasons for moving outweigh your horsewords. The next chapter will be ready when it's ready, and I look forward to it. Until then, settle in and get your meatbody fixed.

You know what? I don't care about the short-term consequences for Rites. I prefer long-term nice-ness... That's not a word but you get the point xD It's preferable that you get rid of the pain and get to be with your wife than it is for us to get frequent updates on your stories... So, as I have probably said many times before, take the time you need and don't worry about us..

And congratulations with the visa!

Congratulations on the visa!
