    Happy New Year 2017

To my friends, followers, and people who stumbled upon my page,

I wish you all a Happy New Year from Texas.

Not much to say about the up coming year, all I can hope from the world of fanfiction is that I can finish up my current Kantai Collection ideas and maybe do some more MLP.

Project Corona Status · 1:30pm Jun 6th, 2014

To my friends, watchers, and people who stumbled upon my page,

PRTTOJECT: CORONA STATUS... ... ... ... COMPLETE

Well more or less, still need to get Office and possibly PC Doctor as well. But as of last night I installed the OS and brought Corona to life. Ok so I actually started her up two days ago once I got the monitor to run the BIOS and see if the parts all connected right.

At finally tally I have spent a bit over $1800 on Corona, so I've come to the conclusion that when people say that building your own PC is cheaper than buy one pre-built they are obviously lying and are full of themselves... then again she was still cheaper than buying a Mac.

As it stands that apart from software I have no real plans on upgrades just yet. I may get 8 more Gigs of RAM, and maybe a Liquid CPU cooler but that's about it. Corona runs and runs fast and quiet.

To everyone who helped I thank you, and if anyone wants to know what is under Corona's hood just let me know and I'll tell ya.

Ooh, nice!

Im going to launch my own project by the end of this month but with a budget of 800-1000€.
While its true that building your own machine is more expensive then a pre-built, it really depends on where and from what company you bought it. Certain rigs are bult with parts that have next to no compatability and as a result dont run as well as expected. This again necessitates further money spending.

Bit of the price jump in my case was the monitor and video card, I didn't take in account that I needed a monitor when I started and I needed a video card to get the most out of it... so without those I would have spent about $400 to $500 less.

My family trusts and has used Dell for a pretty long time, and while a few issues do pop up their customer service people help big time.

Hopefully in your part of Europe parts might be a bit cheaper. Then again I went in with the idea of building a computer that will last me at least 4 years, thus prices jumped accordingly.

Glad to hear that things are running! I'm guessing this blog post came from said computer? Either way, be proud of the build. It's not something a lot of folks feel like they can do. It's not something a lot of folks can do.

Congratulations! Have a glass of bubbly to celebrate.

2180462 I see.

I know that Dell is on the forefront of pre-built rigs  (and so are their prices :twilightsheepish:).

Also, the parts arent really cheap here, its just that I have a buddy who knows where to buy the stuff cheaper then usual and is also an IT-technician who knows how to get most of the juice out of the hardware.

Now, the rig Im using is quiet old. I bought it as a pre-build back in August 2007 (holy crap, its now 7 years old!) and I can still play most games, just not the newer ones :twilightblush:, and I also bought it for just about 750€. I guess its safe to say that yours will last considerably longer then what you need it for, if you maintain the software and all.

Yes it is, and thanks but I don't drink. Yeah I wasn't too sure about putting it together myself, but it wasn't that difficult.

Dell also is based where I live, and Round Rock owes much to Michel and Co.

My dad has a desktop around the same age as yours, and it is still considered top of the line. Granted it was overkill when he got it, it was a Dell XPS gaming rig, but it still works and is still under warranty.
