Long time reader, first time writer...

Posting my first fanfiction last night unfortunately has shown me more about the community here than I was truly comfortable knowing. While there isn't a real way I can salvage my story without shameless plugging on multiple brony sites I frequent, I'm afraid that due to a poor choice in optional cover photo that my story wasn't given the fair chance it deserves.

Whether my writing sucks or on the off chance that it doesn't I could care less for, as long as I get constructive criticism about it instead of anonymous down votes that tell me nothing but "lol I hate your story/cover photo". Now while I expected something like this to happen, as a reader myself I fell into some stereotypical behavior, I was expecting it to be a little more grown up.

Comments about my writing would have been awesome, good or bad, at least commenting on my writing style or the fact that its probably full of typo's would have at least told me someone took the time to read through it and judge later. Comments about my poor choice in cover photo (which is completely optional to have anyways so in all honesty should have no barring on a story's effectiveness anyways) while down voting to oblivion doesn't tell me anything about my story... You know, the story is, or I thought was, the most important part of FIMFiction, and the comments even let anonymous people to pitch in.

So I'm a little disappointed in the community at large, this experience did teach me one thing however, never post fanfics to this site. This site used to be a wondrous place and I was glad to be a part of that, reading people's stories based on their synapses and then judging on their writing capabilities, if they had a picture that was either a bonus or I just looked the other way, because the cover photo shouldn't be a determining factor in a story, but I guess I was wrong there.

So in response to this crazy unfortunate circumstance, I have temporarily changed the photo, not to give in to social pressures, but to prove a point at least. I am also going to hide the second half of the story and republish it at a later time, I have some story element things I need to update anyways.

Hopefully when the full story returns on the main latest updates page people will at least give it the fair chance that every other story deserves and that I used to give to them.
