23rd Birthday!!

Well, today is my 23rd birthday (obviously from the blog title), and also it's close to my two year anniversary of me becoming a brony (don't know the exact date though, but it's late May-early June).

My thoughts about the fandom since I joined:

To start out, I actually started out hating the show and, by association, the fans. I never really knew about the show save for a few pictures cropping up online around mid-to-late 2011. I was college-aged, but I was still rooted in traditional roles (which you can probably blame on either my parents or their conservative beliefs). One day, I decided to watch the first few episodes to get ammo. I watch the first two episodes, and I WAS HOOKED!!!!

At first, I was a bit anxious about being a brony, so much so I kept it hidden. It wasn't too hard considering I almost always am in my room, door locked. What caused the change? Well, I heard about a brony meet-up via a friend's Facebook, so I decided to surprise everyone (including myself) by going. To see how many people who liked the show in my home town of Knoxville, TN was eye-opening (our group the Knoxville Bronies were given a shout-out in the "Bronies" documentary).

I started getting caught up in anticipation for the next season (Season 3 at the time). I was so excited for S3 I watched both S1 and S2 non-stop the week of the premiere. And the rest, they say, is history.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, bronies, for being SO AWESOME!!! No need to be 20% cooler, cause you all ain't no Scootaloos!!
