The bat ponies had long since been at war with the normal ponies; an apocalypse, if you will. But when Jade Moonstone, the bat pony general, captures a stallion from the other side as a captive, she starts to sense something different about the stallion. Something that might reflect on her feelings to the other side... As well as the stallion. With tempers flaring and a deep, dark secret to uncover, Jade begins to wonder if she's really fighting for the right side.

For this is the story of the Soldiers of the Night. And it begins with a stallion.
