    For why I'm not updating:

Bought it Tuesday night, promptly spent 26 hours on it in two days, stopping only to sleep and wash clothes.

I had things that needed doing.

    Like building solar panels.

And hydroponics bays to grow food in the winter.

Sorry for the recent flurry of journals lately. Just keep finding interesting stuff. I promise after this one I'll cool it for a while.

Basically, if you like anime, I want to tell you to watch something; It's called Girls und Panzer, and it's basically FIM with tanks.

Yeah, okay, maybe not exactly like it, but I just watched the 14-episode series earlier and it has a lot of the same heart, fascinating alternate takes on world-building, and diverse yet interesting characters that make you smile. They're adorable and heartwarming without being cloying or painfully overdone, and even the antagonists are well-rounded for the most part. At the same time, they're driving tanks. And they shoot at each other. There's a bit of ridiculous-yet-not-impossible explanation for how this is done without people dying, but in the end you gotta ask yourself: who cares? TANKS!

So more correctly, it's girls with tanks... which is exactly what the name translates into.

Just, look, I think a lot of the guys who actually follow my journal not only like FIM (duh) but probably also military hardware (hence fans of Falling Stars ), and I think you might get a kick out of it. I watched the series on Hulu.com, so you might want to go there and search for "Girls und Panzer" and give it a watch. I warn you, the story does pull you in a lot more than you'd think it would, so don't be surprised if you lose some time.

Seriously. Girls and Tanks. Girls in tanks doing awesome things. What more could you possibly want?

Best show.
BEST SHOW.
*furiously types Girls und Panzer on Google*

You seen it! AWESOME!!! :rainbowkiss:

So over the top, that time when instructor got airdropped, that pink M3 Lee, the academy ships, the most creative way on taking on a FUCKING ROLLINING BUNKER!!!.

And then there is this:

No comment needed.

Also, as the episodes went on they started playing hommage to World of Tanks. There was even an entire crew dedicated to the game. Then how they slowly upgraded the tanks and even later when the Prosche Tiger held of an entire assault force by simply standing at an angle. (I dont know if this is an applied tactic in real armored warfare, please bare with me :twilightsheepish:)
I watched it in japanese with subs, they constantly replaced words with their german matches.

2117819 I noticed that about the Chi-Nu crew, and it was great. :pinkiehappy: The show really got a more WoT flavor as time went on, although it's hard not to when you've got the same premise: people in tanks blasting one another in games. :raritywink: Also, that last fight: Hetzer's gonna Hetz. :pinkiecrazy: :rainbowlaugh: I swear I think they did it on purpose. I just wish they could've used the derp gun. :derpytongue2:

That way they fought the Maus was actually the first I'd seen of the series, and that alone was enough to pique my interest. I didn't actually watch it, though, until a friend of mine who's an anime nerd got a look himself and told me it was great, and once you're in the story that fight against the Maus just becomes even MORE epic than out of context.

The episodes on hulu.com are all subbed, but I think they used a different subbing company for theirs or something because they're different from the German-ish ones I've seen in the clips on YouTube. Still love that line: "Apologize to the Finnish!" :rainbowlaugh:

Nice song, but I liked some of the other music, like this:

2118569 Indeed.

Oh the laughing fit I had when that one japanese tank drives up to block the Maus' turret.
Maus crew: GET THAT LIGHT TANK OFF OF OURS
Answere: This is actually a heavy tank.

Hetzer's gonna hetz. Thats what you get when you actually do your history lessons.

2119411
"It's actually a medium tank" is the right answer. The Japanese never made any heavy tanks. ;p

And I laughed at that when I first saw it as well. But I found it even funnier when they were racing between and ahead of the Tiger IIs and shooting them and generally luring them away from the main fight. :pinkiehappy:

*Sigh* I kinda wish we had crazy, insane sh*t like that in our world. Could you imagine, giant freakin' games of tanks blasting one another? Not on the 'net but in real life? Whole shops dedicated to those beautiful, glorious war machines?

I just know that if we manage to make it fully into a post-scarcity society and have all sorts of energy and material wealth on our hands, someone will start that sh*t up. And if they don't I will rise from the grave and give that generation zombie wedgies because TANKS! TANKS, YOU MOTHER****ERS!

2119438 Please! Dont make me c*** over my Keyboard! :twilightsheepish:

But yeah, the idea is awesome and considering the human preference for BIG things it might even become a thing.
Heck, I would even participate in such an event! :rainbowdetermined2:

I had an idea for a fanfiction that involved a Leo 2 beeing teleported to Equestria (including the crew) about 10 years prior to Lunas return. The link here is that prior to that the Leo 2 participated in a massive exercise where the forces of 10 different nation clashed in simulated battles to prove who had the best army. The entrie thing was sprawled out over France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. It was such a momentus occasion that TV stations all over the world were broadcasting on the events like if it was the Super Bowl or the UEFA Champions League.

Urgh...sorry for being impatient, but can you please give us an update on Falling Stars? :twilightoops:

2138350 Trying to build up the writing head of steam for it. Working on some side projects, pecking at the story, but mainly wasting time with Minecraft and Planetside 2... :ajsleepy:

But it's on my priority list.
