Proof that I'm not dead. I was just in a slumber, waiting for reason to rise again. I might have found that reason.

November 2013- Season Finale of Korra

Me: Oh boy, I sure did enjoy that season finale! I mean sure, that was a big asspull they did, but otherwise, it was great. I hope that Boondocks season 4 comes along quickly and soon. After all, it's the season that Aaron worked hard on and helped write and produce. Surely they won't have a situation like season 3 of FIM where Lauren wasn't there and they were spending the entire season beta testing to try and fit the stories in correctly! Nope, not at all! hahahha....

Well, anyways, instead of making stupid forshadows, I should see how FIM is doing. I heard there was a season 4 on the way. Wonder if there's any news about that.

Zecora: Well, since I'm back from my filming trip, I decided to bring this little clip..

Me:......... *sigh*

Season 4 so far... has been one rollar coaster ride of a season. Everything from really good to bad, excellent characters to absolute terrible characterization, episodes that I thought were just as good if not better than S2, to episodes that I thought were just as bad, but thankfully not worse (some) to alot of S3. It was an experience. I like to call this season the start of a new era for the series, as it did go past it's original intention of 3 seasons, and left all that Faustian influence behind (or most). It's weird, that this season has, while gaining some good ground, also caused mixed feelings for some. Now, before I go into this, let me reiterate this: This is not a rant blog series. I will not be bitching about things I don't like throughout it. I still like the series. I was here since season 1, and while I was never as huge on it as some of you guys were, I did find something in it special that made me wanna stay in the fandom. Also, I don't blame the writers for any of the situations that were unfavorable. Going along with Hasbro's plans must be tough, and I can't imagine how much work must go in to making the episodes as different and diverse as they could throughout the season. But still, as fans we have to watch this. So quality episode or not, it's in our right to judge it based on what we think. And since you guys seem to like my analysis or reviews (you sadists) I'm going to be going over mostly all the elements of the season. I'll be analyzing the characters, episodes, situations, themes, and all around progress and figure out what quality this season actually had over the span of maybe 3-6 days.

But Draconian Soul, that's a lot to work on! Surely you won't do everything the show had to offer!

You're right, my eager readers. This blog series will be long as hell, but the least I could do is minimize the length by cutting unnecessary fillers. And so.

THE THINGS I WILL NOT GO INTO GREAT DETAIL ON SO I'LL JUST GO AHEAD AND MENTION THEM HERE BRIEFLY!!!

If there's one thing I will not go over, it's the music. I think most of you know where I stand on the orchestral and vocal portions of the show. I don't necessarily think they're it's strong suits. No offense to Daniel Ingram, but it always sounds like he's trying way to hard to make hits, and make them catchy, in turn, making them annoying to me. Not to say they're bad, but they aren't my thing. Even back in season 2, I never really liked their music. This season... while nothing has changed from that, some sounds did stand out. I did briefly enjoy Hearts As Strong as Horses...

And I did find the Rarity song she got early on was fitting...

I mean, I wouldn't call them amazing, and I sure as fuck didn't like the Apples Forever song, but for what they were... they weren't that bad. They were simple, not too imposing, and at least while I had to wait for the songs to be over, I didn't have to wait for centuries or sit through an entire goddamn episode of songs.

And, as another thing I won't go into....

>.>

<.<

....I won't rag on the princess this time. Yeah, I know, it's a miracle. I'm tired, you're tired. I just want to say this: the royals didn't have the development that I kinda wanted in this series. Granted, it's not always about them, but if you're going to tease the characters being around, you need to show them being useful.

Maybe they should go by the comics, or try to change the way they're portrayed

Also, I'm sick of not liking the royals. I would like to say that they have value other than being plot drivers for once. Also... just so I can avoid talking about her throughout:

Trust me, this is better if I get this out of my system. That way I can avoid it in the future. Pinkie Promise

Pfft!

Hm... any extra fat I can shave..... hmm....

Oh! I won't be going into the background characters or references that showed up this season. Not even the Bioshock ones or the images of Derpy and Berry Punch. I don't care about background ponies. They don't add too much to the story so no real reason for me to care much. Sorry guys :I.

But yeah, everything else is open terrain.

Okay, compared to the future blogs, this one will be quite brief, because all I wanna do is just get you an introduction to what was happening before the lead in to this season. As I said, I've been around since season 1. It shocked me honestly how many of my friends on here didn't watch this series until season two, or even three (poor bastards :/). I can honestly say that I've experienced the fandom when it was starting out, even before the big blowup in 2. I for one thing 2 is the best season of the series, and it's what I would call the pinnacle of what this series can do with their characters. Then season 3 came... and my hopes died down a bit. Then EG came.... and I almost said fuck it. I wasn't going into season 4 expecting much. So, I had a pretty negative look into S4 as is. I didn't think they would make quality episodes throughout, I didn't think they would develop Twilight's position (though honestly they still haven't), and overall, I was kinda sour on it. But, just like with Dexter, I hate seeing a series incomplete. So I decided to suck it up and take it like a man. And on that one faithful Saturday, the episode aired, giving us the brand new season, and the continuation after the original series finale (as early intended)

Ehh... even the opening pissed me off when I saw it.

Okay, I'm just spouting bullshit at this point :rainbowlaugh:, but seriously, look at this opening scene. Half of these characters don't' even show up that often, nor get a meaningful speaking role, yet they're displayed like they're of importance. It's like a giant tease.

Twilight: We have all these side characters that we aren't going to fucking use correctly, but who cares, cause I'm the pretty pony you wanna see, and I'll still make money off ya. So watch the series ya stupid brony

And so it begins... the beginning of season 4. Out of the sake of redundancy, I will copy/paste some of my talks of season 4's premiere, because unlike other episodes, my opinion on that hasn't changed much. That, and I'm sorta lazy like that. All is forgiven right?

We start out with Twilight falling down and completely forgetting what she knew how to do last season at the last frame. Of course, most like to wipe that scene out their mind anyway, so it's not that big of deal. She goes on saying that "something is missing, and even with her friends away, she feels kinda empty". That of course changes when Celestia shows up and they share a moment (oh boy the Twilestia people are having a field day with that little scene) and she pretty much tosses a letter she got from a friend saying it's nothing. Well good going bitch! You practically gave up "what was missing" in order to lick Celestia's vag. Why am I supposed to feel bad for Twilight again?

Okay, I have three things about AJ in general. 1. All episode she has been acting like a defacto-leader. "Hey, ya'll. You guys are the most unstable so I'm gonna bloody do everything in the group and take charge now that Twi is princess and all." Hell, even her Power Pony promo has her in the frontline. She's really working to not have background jokes again. 2. It hasn't just been me, which is good, but anyone notice that AJ was kinda... too into Twilight this episode. Every time she wanted to talk to her, she would practically wrap her hooves around her waist, look her dead in the eyes and be like "Twi, I really want you to be safe. I'm not the only one who saw that right? Hell, the camera zoomed on them! IT FUCKING ZOOMED!

3. AJ and the others in this part were OOC. Why the hell would they send Twilight away? They can't do the damn thing without all of them there, so getting rid her is pointless. They tried to make up a half assed reason but it was mute with the fact that Cadance exists. Yes! Use her as a princess to protect if things go down, like Twilight getting tentacle assaulted throughout the episode (yes, it happened. Fanart predicted it way before season 4 :/).

So we find out that the reason that this all happened was... :pinkiegasp:... It was Discord's doing! Well no shit! Most figured that out midway through. I'm glad they did it though; I mean his name is bloody Discord! I would have been insulted if they did reform him 100%. It's like making Greed from FMA the most generous homunculus in one night. It wouldn't work that way! Though I started questioning Discord's sexuality when he dressed as a maid. I was like WTF! But I was laughing while I was doing it. I think Discord wanted to be a little girl in a erotic fantasy all along.

But yeah, like that refresher. I will say though, I was pleasantly surprised by how they took care of the characterization (for the most part). But it could have used improvement on the development of Twi's role.

But whatever. It's only the beginning. Let's see how much they progress on it during the 26 episodes.

22 episodes later

This is the first time her position has been a challenging problem... we had to wait... over half the season for her position to even be relevant. An entire fucking season gone by! NO DEVELOPMENT.
.......
HAHAHHAHHAHAHHA... THAT'S GREAT... FUCKING GREAT

HAHHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAH..... What the F...

Sorry about the ending. Will continue more into the core season in part 2. See ya then :raritywink:

Omg, I thought that I was the only one here who loves the Boondocks. :rainbowkiss: :yay: I thought season 4 already began? Wasn't the first episode about that R&B star who gets in a lot of trouble?

Boondocks's an awesome series.

But wait, the season 4 finale's already out?

I know this will get a lot of downvotes:

I don't like new generations,:( therefore, I hate the legend of Korra, especially since I was very fond of Team Avatar in the first generation, and very fond of Aang, being a young and yet powerful avatar.I cried in the series finale, when I wasn't much of a fan.How much do you think I will cry at the series finale of MLP:friendship is magic?!:T
So ya.
Thumbs down away! ^.^
