Gypsy The Teller

I'm an old soul and I've told stories in one form or another for my entire life. Writing them down is a new experience for me and I hope to learn as much as I can about the art.

    After all this time..

I've struggled to try and complete another chapter of Gypsy Tales and the more I do the more I realize that I wrote something outside of my comfort zone.

What started out strong in the first chapter was weakened in the second due to my trying to keep things on the same level as the show rating-wise and because of that I learned a hard lesson about my limitations.

    Delays and Loss

Please forgive the delay with the third chapter of Gypsy Tales. I've been fairly preoccupied with my children going off to school and the ton of work that goes into supplementing what they learn there with reading and review time at home. It's a full time job, you know.

    Evolving writing style

    So!

In the middle of working on chapter three of Gypsy Tales I realized that thanks to all of the feedback that I've been getting my writing style has started to change. My approach to writing is a bit different and I'm taking it a bit more relaxed and using slower pacing than I used to. (Thank you all for the suggestions!)

    Gypsy Tales #3!

So! I've started work on chapter three and I've already decided on a story and snack so the writing began just a few moments ago. I thought I'd take a minute to explain my process so folks can get a better idea of just how I write.

Gypsy Tales #2! · 9:37am May 6th, 2014

I just wanted to let anyone that was interested know that I'm still working on the second chapter of Gypsy Tales and it should be completed in the near future.

While I have your attention though, I'd like to ask what kind of folk stories you, as the readers, would like to see covered in these little stories? I'd also like to ask for outside impressions of Gypsy if you're willing to share, of course. It's been a good long time since I've written anything and this is my first whack at it in well over twenty years so I expect that my writing style seems and feels old fashioned, drawn out, and lengthy on the descriptions! Any feedback would be very welcome on anything you've seen in the way I write.

Truth be told, most of my storytelling skill comes from running Dungeons and Dragons games (been doing it for close to twenty five years) so it is a little strange to me that the story isn't growing a pair of legs and trying to get away from me like it usually does when players get the "wrong" idea concerning your NPCs. I'm not surprised, however, that this sort of story takes just as much planning. It may not be running off without me, but it won't move unless I do something about it so this has been a wonderful experience for me.

I'm pretty sure I'm rambling like an idiot now so I'm going to close here with saying that I look forward to anything that anyone has to say in regards to my writing style, my characters, and my interpretations of any existing characters from the MLP Universe.

Yay! Another chapter! :rainbowwild:
I, personally, would like more folk tales or fairy tales that maybe lean a bit more towards The Brothers Grimm than Disney. But, I would be good with just about anything; you're doing great!:pinkiehappy:
