S4 Episode 24 Equestria Games · 5:42pm May 5th, 2014
Okay, "Trade ya" was hyped due to the littlest pet shop finale, "Equestria games" was hyped all the way back to season 3, and like with "Trade ya" it wasn't worth it.
I'm going to try a new thing with these reviews, and this time it'll be the good, the bad and the awful. It will be one thing from the episode that was good, bad and awful and becouse of this I might skip over a few things.
The good
The moral, all the praise means nothing if you don't feel it inside is a shot to the heart for me with everything I do, and recently I was awarded key piece in my Leadership cohort. I didn't expect it and honestly felt like I didn't deserve it, but the more I heard from the leader of my group, the more I began to believe it. I did deserve the award, I just had to believe I deserved it.
The bad
That entire minute of Spike embarrassing himself by trying to sing the cloudsdale national anthem.
Okay, how am I supposed to believe that Spike, a tiny dragon, was able to bypass all the security at a national event such as the Equestria games? It is ridiculous, and why didn't Shining Armor stop Spike when he was clearly insulting the city of cloudsdale? In the real olympics, countries take pride in their national anthem, and it is insulting to have it butchered like that.
The awful
Why would a hyped episode like this, one that had an entire season of hype, be turned into a Spike episode? I mean clearly "Spike at your service", "The secret of my excess" and "Dragon Quest" are the highest ranking episodes on all brony fav lists. No they aren't, and even though I love the moral Dave Polsky could have given us a smaller one and had the focus on... oh I don't know "The Equestria games". I mean, that's what we came to see, not Spike formally insult en entire city.
There were other things like the Ice catastrophe, and ice arrows themselves, but I wanted to go past the previous failures of "Rainbow Falls" and enjoy some competitive games, and, am I the only one to notice that the only ponies that came out during the opening ceremony was Rainbow, Fluttershy, Bulk, and Derpy? Where were the rest of them?
"Equestria Games" had its moments, but it was too hyped and the focus wasn't on what it should be... Oh, and we had a flipping Spike episode last week! Dave, I question you sir... question you real good.
Okay, thanks to those who stayed this long. I don't know exactly when I will be able to finish chapter four of Strange Discovery as I have a lot of things to get done, but I will work as hard as I can.
