Good lord, I can't believe it's almost the end of the season! It seems like just yesterday, I was counting down to the beginning of season 4. I hope with the end of the season, we see a better selection of vids on YouTube pop up, but that's for a different blog post.
This season has definitely seen its share of awesome episodes, and I think 'Equestria Games' was definitely one of them. I'm not a particular fan of Spike episodes, because even though I love the little guy, he's not one of my favorites, but I just loved how in this episode, you could totally feel for him. The whole time he was singing the "Cloudsdale Anthem, as sung by Spike the Dragon," I was cringing and felt awful for him. Poor Spike. Just more proof that he's a baby dragon, and he still has a lot to learn in general. The theme of being confident in yourself, and having that confidence come from within really hit home.
My only gripe with the episode was that Celestia was there (after being pretty much absent through the whole season), and she didn't even say anything! It's like she had laryngitis or something. WTF? Quicksilver says she didn't say anything because he made her hoarse. What?
I'm looking forward to the season finale, but I hope we don't have to wait so long for season 5!
