Just came home from a long day of work and... · 1:18am May 4th, 2014
For weeks I was so excited about this episode today, I can't even begin to tell all of you how excited I was. This was supposed to become my favorite episode. The episode where I would see Rainbow Dash in all her glory come back from all odds and beat the Wonderbolts. Sadly I was mistake... I woke up at around 9 am on Saturday and prepared myself for a long day at work. I was buzzing with excitement the entire day from the minute we opened to the second I got in my car to go home. My boss and fellow co workers didn't really understand why I was so pumped, but it was really noticeable thinking about it now. I work from around 10:30 am to 8-9 pm every Saturday. It's not a very hard shift, it's just a long one. When I finally got off I rushed into my car and headed home, there was nothing that was going to get in the way of me watching this episode. I practically ran my car into my lawn trying to get home and watch the thing. I threw all my things down and sprinted to my room to watch the episode.
The next 20 minutes were honestly depressing. They could have done so much with this episode, the Equestrian Games are a big deal and yet they decided to cram it into one 20 minute episode. Not to mention it was a Spike episode, the games seemed to become almost secondary. When I got to around the 13 minute mark I almost couldn't take it anymore, I actually had to pause the episode. Luckily during that brake I got a chance to read a better version of the race thanks to KrishnaKarnak, that can be found here.
Unrelated thought:
It's easy to tell that Rainbow Dash is my favorite pony, it's always been that way and it always will. She holds a special place in my heart when it comes this whole fandom and everything. She has and will always be number one in my book no matter what Hasbro or anyone else has to say about her. Rainbow Dash Forever!
Anyway, I've halted all my work on my current projects to write a soarindash twist on this episode to bring myself closure.
My reaction as the episode went by.
You and I, my dear friend, have very similar reactions to the episode. I wrote this in response to Krishna's blog post, and I thought it would work here too:
I agree with you; this was supposed to be the best episode for guys like us. There was SO much potential, and they barely scraped the surface. It should have been spaced into two or maybe three, but nope. Sigh... I still have to read WRTMI, but I always wait until something is done before reading it. I've still read 35k in it, but that was because I edited that MASSIVE AS SHIT chapter.
Lastly, it's nice to see you're still alive!

I can safely say that RD is best pony, and she is my "Not" my favorite pony. Yeah, to say that she is my fave pony. *sings in head* Dashie mine, don't you cry. Dashie mine, dry your eyes. Rest your head close to my heart, never to far. Dashie of mine."
