I Have New Short Stories Out · 6:54pm Apr 30th, 2014
Non-horse ones I'm afraid. I don't know how many of you are interested in non-horse stories from me but this is pretty much the place where I have the most people listening to what I say If you're interested in horse stories from me then I'm afraid you're going to have to wait as I'm still focusing on non-horse fiction at the minute. Life keeps getting in the way of that too. At this point I think it would be nice to settle into a routine
I called you here today to show you what I've been up to lately. I decided to challenge myself to write one short story a week. It would be a nice way to get my name out there, and practice my writing. Writing is one of those things where you can fall out of practice after all. I learned that the hard way. I wrote three short stories that I've now published individually and you can get them all for the low low price of $1.29 cents (each). It's supposed to be 99 cents but Amazon added VAT.
The first one is called Not Another Camping Story and it can be found here. It starts out as something a little silly with a guy telling a normal campfire horror story, but things soon escalate as one of the campers goes missing. A search ensues, but no one is quite prepared for what they find.
The second one is A Chest Of Childhood which is here. A man is cleaning up his house as he prepares to move. His young son is helping and they come across a chest of old toys. There's a lovely little trip down memory lane and even, because it's me, a nice moral. Because I'm like that.
The third one, and also the one I think you'll find most interesting, is called As I Sit Here Looking Out To Sea. It's available here and is essentially my attempt at humanising "I'm Tired Of All This". I'm not sure the story really translates without all the background, but it's still a good emotional read, and it also has a lot more of me personally in it. Instead of writing a suicide note through Scootaloo, I practically wrote my own actual one. Someone who went through everything I went through contemplates his life up to the point he found himself; contemplating jumping. There's more to life than he thought, and he's going to learn that, but will it be too late?
If three stories aren't enough and you find yourself wanting more, you can also find my collection of eight short stories here. It's more expensive of course, at $3.11 but it IS 8 stories. That's about 50 cents per story.
If you can't buy something, or just don't want to, then it would really mean a lot if you could still load up the pages and share them on Twitter or Facebook, or any other social media you have. I can't afford fancy professional marketing and my attempt at semi professional marketing didn't go so well. Thankfully it only cost me $5.
Well I've eaten up more than enough of your time. Here's some ponies for your troubles.
