Do other writers follow me? I honestly have no idea. I should try to figure out who you are someday.
But if you are, and you're interested in shipping (and if you aren't interested in shipping, why are you here?) there's this lovely contest going on over at the RariDash group.
All you have to do is write 3k worth of spring-themed RariDash, and you have three weeks to do it. 3k words in three weeks? Seriously, that's nothing. You could write 150 words a day and easily reach that limit with time to spare. How long does it take to write 150 words? Like ten minutes? With so little required effort, what reason could you possibly have for not writing something?
But, HoofBiting, you say, I don't have any ideas!
Firstly, don't call me HoofBiting. It sounds dumb. Secondly, with today's advanced technology, you don't have to come up with your own ideas. Here are some ideas, how hard could it really be to make a short RariDash out of one of those?
But, Hoof (may I call you Hoof?), you say, I don't like RariDash!
Yes, you may call me Hoof. And that's the perfect reason to write RariDash. It's hard to grow as a writer if you only ever write things you like. You'll only ever be good at writing those few things. Sometimes, it's important to write something outside your comfort zone and try something new. A short RariDash is an easy way to venture into new territory while staying close by to something familiar. Really, you owe it to yourself and your development as a writer to write something for this contest.
But, Hoof, you say, contests and deadlines are scary!
Well, you're a wuss. But that's okay. You can totally be a wuss in this situation, because as of writing this, there hasn't been a single entry written for the contest. Not one. So, if you write a short 3k word RariDash and enter it, you'll automatically win $25 (ohmyglob!). It doesn't even have to be particularly good. Look at all of these things you can buy with $25. I see some polo shirts in there, a subscription to National Geographic (which is apparently still in print), that last GI Joe movie on BluRay (not worth watching, but hey, you could smack somebody in the head pretty good with the case). By golly, this is like Christmas in July, except in May!
But, Hoof, you say, I'm not a writer!
Big deal, neither am I, and I do okay for myself. But what better time to start than when there's a free $25 on the line, and all you have to do is come up with a measly 3k words? It's as easy as opening up a word document and throwing your face at the keyboard a few times.
But, Hoof, you say, I'm too busy!
Again, it's only 3k words, and you have three weeks to write them in. However busy you might be, I guarantee you have ten minutes free a day to write 150 words about Rainbow Dash and Rarity sucking face.
But, Hoof, you say, I've run out of excuses and now I'm going to go win that $25!
Good, but remember this, nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain't how hard you can hit. It's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done.

I currently have a Raridash underway. Unfortunately, it isn't eligible since it starts before Rainbow and Rarity have started dating.
Oh well.
Ordinarily I'd find this to be a challenge worthy of my writing talents... but I really can't stand RariDash. Something about those two being shipped really rubs me the wrong way, much worse than RariJack.
And yet... I just might try. Maybe. I dunno yet. Been finding myself down in the dumps as of late, and I've kind of lost my creative spark... if that's even possible. Maybe its just hiding right now? Yea, lets go with that. Anyway, we'll see, and thanks for the heads up at least.

I wrote The Wraith of Ponyville the day before it was due for the last contest.
It is well over 3k words. Honestly, 3k words is something you can bang out in a few hours. It probably takes about 8-10 hours of work to write and edit a 3k word fic if you can get people to give you feedback promptly.
Of course, all of the contest entries last time got like, no views at all. It was pretty sad. I would say depressing, but being depressed because no one reads your pony words is kind of silly.
If I had a good idea for the pairing, I would do it. Sadly, I do not. I don't even really ship them.
Can I call ya Aich-Bow? :V
EDIT: Looked through my workfile. I've only got one RariDash idea and it's about them getting together. :B Hard contest is hard.

Idea: Rainbow Dash becomes a crime lord. Rarity breaks up with her. To get to Dash, Bad Dude, Rainbow Dash's criminal competitor, orders his evil gang to murder Rarity. They succeed. The Omni Consumer Products Corporation transforms Rarity's corpse into RoboRarity. RoboRarity and Rainbow Dash team up one last time to defeat Bad Dude. Literal and romantic sparks fly.
Either of you can have that one.

I wrote up a 1600 word outline for a story because you said this. Your description inspired me.
