There's a little pink nose a-pokin' into my room. · 11:32pm Apr 22nd, 2014
It's Daisy, sucking up.
As usual.
She pokes her head in periodically, in the hope that A) She'll get a walk, B) She'll get a snack or C) She 'll get both.
And she can be quite insistent, hanging outside my door and giving pitieous whines under her breath, especially when she wants a walk. Well, I can't take her out, as it's raining cats and dogs (*COUGH*), so I decide to keep her occupied in another way by giving her a peice of what I'm snacking on.
Wine gums.
A wine gum, if you didn't know, is essentially a dense ju-jube. She scarfs it up without a single thought, as dogs are wont to do, and the fun begins.
As anyone who owns a dog can tell you, giving a dog peanut butter is pretty funny.
Giving one a wine gum is hilarious.
She bites right into it, immediately gumming her mouth shut. So she tries on her side teeth. No good; gummed up again. She shakes her head to loosen it to try again. At this point she's basically waging war on it with her face.
She figures out what's going on and to be careful, so now she looks like an old lady trying to eat a sandwich as her dentures are falling out. She rolls the gum up and down left and right slowly but surely wearing it down for proper consumption. This takes over a minute as I'm quietly losing my shit.
Finally, after a protracted battle with her gummy nemesis, she swallows it and licks her face clean.
Then she looks to me for another one.
Stupid dog.
hahaha when it comes to giving dogs food, I think they do their best to make sure the jokes on you. Give em something nasty or tough to eat, they'll eventually get it down, and then, to our annoyance, ask for more. It's like they're saying, "yeah, that's right, you tried to trick me, but I totally ate it, so come on now, give me more."
And thus we love them.
