A New Story in the Works · 7:47am Apr 22nd, 2014
Now that I've finally completed Rifts, I've begun work on my next story. It'll be a great deal shorter than Rifts was, being a one-shot by my standards (though, that still might break 20k words.) I'll be exploring just how badly a HiE first contact can go when neither side is really at fault.
It's been my experience that in most stories either the first contact goes well, or one side is in the wrong. Either the human acts aggressively and attacks a pony, or a pony attacks the human on sight without any real reason other than "It must be a monster!" Yet, who's to say either has to be to blame when things don't go well? If something catastrophic happens yet neither side did anything wrong, who do you blame? I'd like to explore that a bit, and I hope you all enjoy reading about it.
How long this will take depends greatly upon my level of inspiration. If I'm really going at it, I could have this done within a few weeks. If I can't seem to get parts down quite right, it could take over two months or so. Only time will tell!
