Reading project: The Well of Pirene; & introductory blather. · 3:32am Apr 22nd, 2014

Since the fanfiction was first introduced to me by my good friend MrRidley, known to me as Nick, I've been curious about reading it, but never considered it seriously until he informed me a few weeks ago that its author was looking for someone to do an audiobook. Of course, I leapt at the chance immediately. I will state here and now that I am not a pegasister: I am one of those strange sympathetic non-fan friends or family members of the fanbase for whom I've come up with the name "unicousins."
However, I love a good chance to read a good story, especially out loud, though my sound equipment is limited to Audacity and a headset microphone. My voice sounds good nevertheless; I've even grown accustomed enough to it that it no longer sounds like an alien, disembodied version of myself. I do like to do voices, within the confines of my own vocal ability (as a woman, I don't do male voices very well, and as a soprano, even worse, given that I can't go very low -- but I try); and I'm told often enough that I have a "storytime voice" that I'm inclined to believe it. Just don't ask me to do accents; I've tried.

More personally, I am in my second year at university, soon to depart from it and then enter my third. I like to study foreign languages, particularly German and Russian, and nurse a deep fondness for musical theatre and disturbing things (give me your creepy fanfictions).

Unicousin needs to be a word.
