All my friends,
I know how long I've kept you waiting. I can't begin to justify why I haven't had time to finish my stories, and for that, I am very, very sorry.
I just don't know what else to say. I have no excuses - but I do have an explanation of sorts, if you will bear with me.
Since starting my own engineering company about a year and a half ago, this is my daily timetable:
05:45 - Get out of bed and fall into the shower.
05:55 - Attempt to brush teeth and shave.
06:00 - Aw yiss. Motha. Fuckin. Cornflakes.
06:05 - Car. I love my car. It's just a Mazda 323 but it's so comfy.
06:06-06:38:59 - FUCK. THIS.TRAFFIC. I. LIVE. THREE. KILOMETRES. FROM. MY. OFFICE.
06:39 - Park the goddamn car and kick the goddamn concrete bollard to dissipate the goddamn fury.
06:40 - Rub foot, shake head, unlock door, turn alarm off.
06:41-22:59 - WHY AM I SELF-EMPLOYED?!
23:00 - Lock office. Car. Home. Park. Punch wall.
23:04 - Undress. Shower. Argument with towel. Bed. Snuggle the incredibly-understanding missus who has her own equally-brutal career. Cry.
Lather, rinse, repeat. I mean, Easter just happened and I didn't get a day off. BUT!
From Fri 25 April until Monday May 5, I am in absentia. I am doing nothing but writing. Glim needs an ending, and I need to deliver it.
Peace, love, respect, appreciation for everybody who ever read my stories - but I gotta get to bed. I'm getting up in five hours.

Wow I had almost given up hope on Glim getting updated. I can't freaking wait for that. I could never bring myself to let the story go because it's so damn good.
I really hope self employment is not really that bad for you. I know a guy who works about 12 hour days for self employment and I thought that was brutal. Good luck man.

With a schedule like that, it's no wonder you don't have time for fanfics. There's no way I could handle a 16-hour work day every day. With my ADHD, I can barely handle a 5-hour work day every other day. They say hours like that are not healthy. I hope you're taking advantage of it to catch up on some sleep, too, not just your internet life.

You found something you are probably love to do, I am jelly and hope to find something like that for myself one day. At least in my experience self employed people are passionate about their jobs.

Well, if what I learned from my father was that starting a business is an extremely time-consuming, and risky venture.

Just finished reading Not My Destiny. I'm looking forward to Glim once it is done. I notice the last chapter was posted in 2012, and this journal nearly a year ago, so your dedication is quite inspiring. I don't expect you've changed your tune a year later if two didn't get you down. Good luck!
