Said while explaining the situation to the Mane Six on how she's been able to keep Celestia's Disappearance a secret.
Seemed like everypony else changed theirs recently, so I thought I'd give it a go too. It took about 2 hours to edit and refine it, removing the rough patches. In the end, I didn't even use 50% of the frame that I cleaned up to get only Luna. So... Yeah. Is still me! Just with a different Luna Avatar. She makes the most interesting faces.

Her micro comic is still my favorite single issue of the whole run. She's just so... well... adorkable, I guess. In a way that's different from Twilight. She's got a lot of personality and a great charisma. She is best pony in my book. Though that's pretty much only because of the comics.
And by best pony, I mean she stands out for me, personally, more than the others (and I love all of them.) Perhaps it's because she's gotten so little time in the spotlight, not in spite of it. I kinda like it that way.

Agreed! Well, I really mostly like her for the comics too. In the show, I love her potential and what little we have seen of her, but I wish we could see more. I think it's kind of a shame that all she's done recently was Sweetie Belle Tolls but it's better than nothing. I think the comics prove that she could be really interesting if they give her a chance, but since the comics have more free range, it's possible that the show can't use her to her full potential.
It does allow for a lot of different head canons though, which I do approve, and at least we do know more about her than we did in Season 1, which is a bonus.
Incidentally, I've seen a snippet of her presiding over some case against Flim and Flam that was brought before her. I should not be pondering anything at all regarding this, since I don't need more plot bunnies (I've already mentioned that), but I can't help thinking that I really want a story at some point where she basically calls on them (sends some guards to find them and fetch them) to serve her in some way. I'm an unabashed clop writer and while I certainly would find that amusing, I'm really more interested in it being not-clop. I have no inspiration for what she might want with them, though I have the general notion that they're temporarily forced to be her servants while she is trying to accomplish some goal that only they can help her with.
I keep thinking griffons, but those poor griffons... Nope. I don't really know what Luna is up to, but I wish I did. I have the feeling she's mostly trying to have some fun while she gets some work done. Flim and Flam are kind of annoyed, but not distressed by this. Really, it's the best punishment they've ever had, other than being saddled with doing something, so it's not quite as fun as if they were going to do it on their own.
And now I'll shut up.
Forgot to add, I think Celestia disappears so much that she has a Frequent Disappearance Card. Racking up that time gone, so she can finally get a free vacation to anywhere.

Oh, sorry. I wasn't trying to imply that there was a twist where Celestia was just off relaxing somewhere. I was making a joke about how it happens so often, she might as well have a Frequent Flyers Card-type deal to benefit from it.

I'm already planning a short Celestia semi-sad slice of life fic set the year after Nightmare Moon's banishment. It deals with the First Grand Galloping gala and the reason it's held at night: to celebrate Luna's night rather than fear it. Maybe I can sort of work on both at the same time since they're the same character, just at different times during her life.

Oooh. I like that idea! Also makes me wonder how Luna feels about the Grand Galloping Gala. But yeah, you can try it out. The gag may be one-note though, so if that doesn't work out, I wouldn't worry about it.

The gag kind of is a one note. I'm thinking it gets denied... then she decides to just take a staycation and the rest of the palace staff have to deal with an indolent ruler for a week. The gag just gets the ball rolling, as it were.
