All my stories, Lazarus, Butler, WAI?, will all have to be put on hold. Why? Because Gdocs will being a complete asshole, for some odd reason it will not allow me to click on anything. I can still type, but I cannot open the share option, change my font, size, nor indent, it won't even let me check the solutions because of a spelling error. After using the inspect element tool on my computer, I saw that my computer was telling me that those were objects I couldn't click. Even though clearly last night I was able to when I was working on What Am I. So after that I decided to transfer my work over to Microsoft Word, but aggravatingly it wouldn't let me copy and fucking paste!
*Cue rage mode*
So that's it! That's FUCKING IT! I'm done with Google!
...
Okay that's going a bit over the top, but honestly I think it's because my computer caught a virus a while back. Everything is going obnoxiously slow, I tried dumping old files and even backing up my computer but... that did nothing. So now I'm going to drop the big one, time to wipe my computer and start over. Thankfully though almost all my documents are on Gdocs internet soooo.... Don't have to worry about losing them.
No chapter this week for any of my stories thanks to this.
This has been Dark Nebula and like always, have a nice day.
I have had that happen to me occasionally. When it happened to me gdocs was opening my doc as read only which doesn't allow editing. I can't think of how I fixed it though off the top of my head.
Why not write it out on Microsoft word or Notepad/wordpad fist?
When that sort of nonsense happens, the first thing I do is reach for a CD or USB thumbdrive that can boot a known-clean copy of Linux.
That way, I can get back to work quickly if the OS is at fault and, at the same time, I can narrow down where the problem lies.
(Note: Those links point to the ones I just happen to have lying around. Other offerings include Slax and Knoppix and you're free to put any of them on either a thumbdrive or a CD. If you want to make a bootable thumbdrive, I recommend the unetbootin wizard.)
Since you're using GDocs, the copy of Firefox or Chrome included on any of those should do perfectly well for you.
2004015 I would yes, but the thing is I can't copy and paste cause it won't let me write click. The reason why I use Gdocs is so that I can easily send it to my editors/prereaders.
2005732 I have tried using a different browser and the virus software (Avast is what I use and quite honestly I don't think it works.) and both attempt didn't work. At least on chrome it worked for a few hours but then it started fucking up.
