Broken the 10's! · 5:31pm Apr 10th, 2014
Call me vain, but I can't believe I actually have more than 10 followers! To some (most) it may not seem like a huge number, but to a starting out fan-fic writer like me, it's amazing!
While I don't know exactly what it is that's causing the follows, I believe I can see the trend of what I must be doing right. My latest story involving our lovable ponies stuck in boxes I think made it clear. Variety!
Admittingly, my first story; "A Change of Weather", was a bit of a flop, most likely due to it being completely OC driven, and also with it being my first. I think the dialogue was a bit hard to follow, and I guess the story wasn't as compelling to others, as it seemed to me. It was a good starting base still, as it helped me get into the feel of writing a MLP:FiM fan-fic.
My second "story"; "My Little Journal", got a lot more praise, mainly due to its ingenuity, and the humor involved. I also got my first constructive feedback to a story, which helped me to improve. The drive to continue it kind of died out a bit, as such for it now being on hiatus, and I regret that I left a comment hanging for a possible collab. I'd like to continue it sometime in the future, and possibly take up that collab-ish suggestion, but I'll just have to find the groove for it again.
I still can't believe how amazingly well my third story did! "The Muffin House Rules" completely blew everything I had done so far out of the park! It's gotten the most views, comments, and up-votes of any story that I've written so far. However, the one thing that still perplexes me today, and makes me twitch in happy confusion, is the fact that it never got a single down-vote! (Please don't troll down-vote for the lulz now Q_Q) I essentially took one of our most lovable ponies (i.e. Derpy) and did something that I thought would've gotten me tons of negative feedback, even if just for fun. However, I never received any of it, and I'm still entirely grateful!
My story still in progress; "The Concerto of a Don", has progressed (response wise) as I would expect it to. It's gotten both up and down votes (more up thankfully!), a decent amount of views (I'm not one to determine what's a decent amount or not, just a guess based on what I've made so far), and even a few comments. I regret that I seem to be falling behind schedule for it, but I'm doing my best to manage my time so that I can complete it/chapters in a good flow. Hopefully, I'll be able to submit my intended two chapters this weekend, but only time will tell.
Now onto the story that nabbed me the remaining three followers to get me above 10; "Ponies stuck in boxes"! Like I said in the author notes, it was my first one-shot story. I had been inspired by the animation that the cover image is from, and decided to make a story out of it. Honestly, I'm surprised that I seem to be the first to jump on this idea. The only other "box" related stories I could find with the search criteria that my story fell under, seemed to just be about the mystery box that we're all waiting to see what's inside. Needless to say, I seemed to have hit the nail on the head with this story, and I'm glad that so many have enjoyed it!
Well, that about wraps up this blog. Thank you all for reading/supporting! Keep up the comments for me, and I'll do my best to continue to put out the best works that I can!

I look forward to reading the rest of your stories!
