A Time in an Author's Life

Sorry I've been inactive for a really long time.

You know that time in a writer's life when they look back at something they wrote and think to themselves, "God, that was stupid, what was I thinking?"

Yeah, I've kind of reached that moment when looking at The Starlit.

    State of the Tzelael

Well, folks, you may not even know it, but Stolen Fire is very steadily drawing to a close (no worries folks, it's good for at least another 4 chapters). Since we're 2/3s of the way through it, those of you who have looked at my other works may have some questions... Like "Why did you inflict this abomination of fiction upon us in the first place?"

    Stolen Fire Update and Art!

Yeah, work on Stolen Fire is slow-going right now, I apologize for not getting it done sooner. In pursuit of inspiration, I drew the page of "The Tale of the Hidden King" that I described in chapter four. Take a look.

Actual Hiatus, and a New Story on the Horizon!

With the second story arc completed, I'm putting Starlit on Hiatus for now. No, seriously. It's going on Hiatus. And it's staying there for a little bit.

Working on plot details for future chapters and also working on a completely different story to open up to other genres and learning to deal with other characters.

Sorry I've been inactive for a really long time.

You know that time in a writer's life when they look back at something they wrote and think to themselves, "God, that was stupid, what was I thinking?"

Yeah, I've kind of reached that moment when looking at The Starlit.

I feel like there were some good ideas there, but they were executed very poorly. The narrative is kind of ham-fisted and some of the characters feel a bit unoriginal and trite. I know I said a long time ago that I would continue that, and I've got to know, do those of you who read it want me to keep going with it? I'm really thinking about shelving it for good, but if there's genuine interest in it, then I can see what of it I can salvage and take it through an overhaul.

Also, apologies for not getting to the sequel of Stolen Fire, that's something I fully intend to do. Stolen Fire, I feel like was one of my more successful stories, and there is a direction its sequel is going to go. I may continue to just write one-shot short stories, since I'm the most proud of those, despite the like statuses in them being less than favorable and far less popular than Stolen Fire.

I'm also planning on releasing a new series of stories that are a bit on the lighter side. I'll post the first two chapters and see how interested people are in them.

A final note, I have no intention of taking down any of these stories. I'd like them to be preserved for posterity's sake, even if it means they'll be mercilessly riffed– hell, I welcome it. Anyway, that's about all from me. See ya'll in the next story!

Alright SO i just read your starlit story and let me tell you this. It started Poorly. But it seems that you started picking up how to write as the story went. By the time i reached the end i was really enjoying it. In all honesty i could see a WHOLE lot of stuff popping up for this especially with twilight being an alicorn and the giant crystal tree. Twilight dealing with Sombra after being trained? Her taking over the leadership as princess? Her friends possibly being brought in to assist. Her pulling discord into helping pull of some insane missions. Really it seems to have so much promise I do hope you decide to continue it.
