The Full Equestriabound Review

A long while ago I posted a review on a demo of an Earthbound mod call Equestriabound(link). It was great. But now the full game is made, but is it good and more importantly, does it do the ponies justice.
Story
For the most part the story is pretty much unchanged from the original. You must go on an adventure to eight locations and gain the power to defeat a great evil. and it fits so well in the FIM universe. The story has some minor changes, like Summers being a more plot important location or actually having to go to the library. Also the writing was well thought out for the most part. One of my favorites is when your about to fight the boss of Magicant.

Music
While some track like most battle music remain, a good portion of them have been replaced by remixes of FIM songs like Onett is the MLP theme. While not as of good quality as the original music, they are still some good music. My favorite was again the one for entering Magicant. While the original was silly but magical, this one was epic and made you feel like you accomplished something.
On a note on the credits song, I didn't see the point of replacing "Smiles and Tears". The melody that replaced it was nice but it's no "Smiles and Tears".

Graphics
As I said before the sprites look good. While the size had cause some graphical issues, they are very detailed and fit with the art style. The new enemy sprites also look nice, although the size of the bosses still bug me. But what really impressed me was the landscape changes. Some were minor like a sign changed, others like Summers impressed me with the complete change one of the beach and water. But the most impressive was Dalaam. OMG I don't know how he/she did it but I was speechless when I first saw it.

Casting
Now the big one. Want can make or break a mod like this is how the character fit the roles they had. And with one exception, I thought they did quite well, and were in character for the most part. The bosses were also good, some even harder than the original while others were easier.
As for a main party, you couldn't have gone better than the CMC and Dinky, especially Dinky as she's the perfect pony to play Ness. The CMC also fitted the other party members well, and the weapons they get fit both them and their personalities. While the mane 6 were minor for the most part, they at least were given a role that suited them.
And the villains. Diamond Tiara is a good Porky while the Nightmare is the only one who could do Giegue. The others were picked well too except for one. The character who plays Belch kinda bothers me, mainly because the fate of him is pretty extreme for the actor who plays him.
Other than that I like the casting.

Rating
Since we don't have a real MLP:FIM RPG, this is the best we got and its good. There's enough differences here to be it's own game and I think fans of both fandoms may enjoy it.
