    Guess What's Coming?

Whoa! My last FIM blog was in March? Didn't think it was that long.

Well, I haven't really gone anywhere. I've been mainly on the DA side of things working on a few things. However, there was one fic that I've mentioned here a few times already that I said I wanted to do. I'm at the juncture to where I'm nearly done with the first draft of this new story. What is it, you ask?

A Surprise Fic + Future Direction

NOTE: Some of this applies to things on the DA side but the content is important enough to post here.

    Two major pieces of news.

I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I'm currently writing Chapter 4 of Brayside Crush. I'd much like to keep writing Crush but I may have to stop at some point soon. As I've mentioned before, I can't release Crush at all before letting everyone read the revised Return to Flight. That whole piece, 90K words in all, requires quite a bit of editing, which I wanted to handle with my occasional stepping in to tweak passages and whatnot.

That hasn't been going too well.

It's been a revolving door with editors for several months and as of now, I don't have anyone to help me. At this point, I don't see any other viable option than to handle it myself which means Crush's progress will come to a screeching halt.

I don't want to do that.

To put it short, I'm in desperate need of a capable editor who can edit the revised RTF in its entirety. There's been too many hands involved already and I just want some consistency throughout the whole fic. If that's too much to ask, then I'm also looking for a second set of eyes for Top Wings just to give it some polish. With Crush, I may wait on that in case I get a case of re-writus.

Hey, uh, just thought I'd pop in.

I read this a few days ago and decided that I might be able to help you out here. What kind of editing do you need? Just clean-up, grammatical stuff, or larger re-write-completely stuff?

1983713 For Return to Flight, most of it has already been rewritten. However, I've yet to edit or check whether my changes need additional alterations. I'd actually be the one doing any additional re-writes; I just need someone to flag anything that requires more than just grammar for whatever reason. Someone had said they may be able to help but that's still in flux.

Top Wings, on the other hand, just needs some touch up. Re-writes would be limited to anything that really needs it. Probably much of Chapter 1 needs better setup but that's about it.

1984471 I'd love to help, but I'm kind of confused here. On Return to Flight, you said you need someone to "flag anything that requires more than just grammar". What do you mean by that?

1985161 A lot of the work I did was done in one go. Therefore, the quality of what I have will be all over the place and in some cases, it's better if someone pointed out things such as bad scene transitions, awkward dialogue or plot inconsistencies. Those, I'd rather rework the passage.

1985209 Oh, okay. Yeah, I'd love to help out with that. Do you prefer communication over PM or email?

1985226 I'll send you a PM shortly.
