MA Larson is best troll. I've noticed some people haven't even mentioned his tweet, and I can't help but wonder if it's because they can't entertain the idea of Flash marrying Twilight even as a joke! (It's a joke, people. The likelihood that Twilight would actually get married for realz during the run of the show? Extremely small.)
Man, people are incredibly pissed off about Flash! I just don't see the point. I feel bad for Meghan McCarthy. She has to have known that if she gave him any personality or anything real to do, people would get pissed. If he was a science nerd? Pissed. If he was a jock? Pissed. You name it, someone would be pissed off, so she made him as generic as possible and handed him an electric guitar to pep him up a little. And so, predictably, people are pissed. Put it in perspective, guys. Gilda's got more fans than Flash. Diamond Tiara has more fans than Flash! Some people have called him "the most hated character in the fandom." Actually, I doubt that's true. Fans or no, lots of people hate DT for a reason, but still, there are plenty of really hateful characters, but somehow they get woobified. Bwuh?
Flash doesn't have much of a personality outside of the one fans have given him, which makes him pretty much like 99% of the background ponies on the show. Here's how I feel about Flash:
There's this guy. Your sister keeps bringing him around. Birthdays, family picnics, whatever, she keeps bringing him around. And he's not a bad guy, but man, is he boring! He does his best to fit in, and somehow that makes it worse. I mean, look at her, she's so bright and beautiful, and any guy would be lucky to have her, and she's dating this -- well, English doesn't have a good word. He's a nebbish.
And then one day, it dawns on you: this guy is your future brother-in-law. Your sister is going to marry him. She loves this guy. And sure, she'd like it if you liked him, because it would make her life easier, but basically, it doesn't matter. He's nice enough and he treats her nicely, and you completely fail to see the appeal, but for some who-knows-why reason, he makes her happy.
So you decide to try to find something to like about the guy, even if it's only "boy, he sure does keep his car clean."
This is how I feel about Flash. He has a guitar. The next movie is Rainbow Rocks. I'd say there's about a 95% chance or better that he is going to be in it, and somehow, he will be Twilight Sparkle's love interest. There's nothing wrong with him, and some fan artists and writers--not me--have managed to make him even sort of likable, but Flash is a future brother-in-law, and I might as well decide to like him, and I suspect that's what some of the recent fics and art are about: people trying to learn how to like Flash.
By the way, this is pretty much how I think Maud Pie would feel about Cheese Sandwich.

Eh, Humanoid Flash isn't bad at all. He's just kind of dull. We don't know what Pony Flash is like, because we've only seen him in two short scenes. The reason I don't see much happening between Ponies Twilight and Flash is that Twilight hasn't done anything we've seen to seek him out. But I could be wrong, maybe in Season 5 they will team up and ship tease the heck out of us?

At first I had a brain fart when you first said 'Flash', not 'Flash Sentry' and thought you were talking about the DC one.

That's why I can't bring myself to extremely hate Flash, yea I don't like how his character is in the movie........yet Megan didn't show to much character. I mean the closest of character is he likes to play the guitar (showing his love for music) and he got a thing for Twlight but THATS ALL! So it's mostly up to the fandom to interpret his character like the background ponies of the show

eh then again there's the second movie and the TV series (when is that going to air?) so if we're lucky then we might get some more character out of him and then this silly fandom will stop hating him to death! (just my opinions

Hahahahahaha oh man. Most people would assume Maud was the Flash Sentry position as future sister in law.
But nope. That is pretty much how Maud sees him. And that is glorious.
I wonder if her whole family feels that way?
Maud: "Your boyfriend is so boring. He doesn't even stand there for very long."
Pinkie: "But he can dance! Look at him go!"
Maud: "I see. It's like he'll die if he stops moving."
Pinkie: "No, he'll pass out before then. He just wants you guys to like him!"
Maud: "I pity him so much right now."
Pinkie: "But he's so funny!"
Maud: "I'm not really into humor. Neither are mom and dad."
Pinkie: *sighs* "Yeah."
Maud: "Did you warn him?"
Pinkie: "Uh huh! But he gasped and he didn't believe me. So... oops, there he goes!"
Maud: "Put him on the couch until he wakes up. I'm sorry, Pinkie. It's nice that he's trying."
Pinkie: "Poor Cheesy."
Maud: "He is really funny though. Would you let him know when he comes to?"
Pinkie: "Aye-aye, captain!"
Maud: "Did you put a hat on me again?"
Pinkie: "Yeeeah..."
Maud: "Okay. Well, here. I need to go calm down and drink some punch. Please don't invite us to the wedding unless you have to."
Pinkie: "Awwww! You know it means a lot if you guys are there! ... If we do. I, uh, I haven't asked him or anything!"
Maud: "Oh, Celestia. Don't ask him when he wakes up. He might pass out again. Just take it easy. He'll give up eventually. On us. Not you."

Forgot to add, I don't hate Flash Sentry. But I think you know that?
