April 1st Aftermath & News on "From The Depths" · 3:52am Apr 2nd, 2014
Though it is a little early to put it to the end, I started early as well. So I think it all rounds out.
So, for those of you unsure exactly what happened on this most glorious days, several authors around Fimfiction switched user names. It was orchestrated by my trading partner, Obselescence, and involved about 30 authors here on the site. It was a fun little thing that was easy to achieve. After all, Fimfiction allows you to change your author name to anything that isn't currently being used by someone else. Of course, some went a little further. Obselescence and I traded profilepics as well as used screenshots to simulate each other's profile pages.
In the end, I hope everyone enjoyed a good chuckle.
You may have also noticed that Obs and I both posted stories today. We made this part of our fun, each one of us throwing out an idea for the other to write about. I suggested to Obs the idea of "A helium shortage and Pinkie Pie have one last balloon", and he suggested to me "Twilight and her friends are drifting apart."
So, if you read Obselescence's If You Love Something thinking it was me and liked the story, go over and follow him. He's written a lot of other good stories worth your time. If you didn't read Drift because you didn't think it was me, why don't you give it a read. I kind of like how it turned out.
For those of you wondering about From The Depths, the next chapter has been written and is nearly done being edited. It will hopefully be out for everyone to enjoy by the end of the week. I am terribly sorry about the delay. Real life and bit of this April Fools writing pushed From The Depths.
Finally though I realize some of you were made very happy by Obs announcement while he was using my name, I'm afraid Past Sins 2: The Rise of Snowdrop isn't a real thing, just like the Monkey Quality Rating system wasn't real. Sorry.

1975871 Stop slacking off and get to it! There is a distinctive lack of ape-like rating systems on this website and i'm tired of it!
When reading blog posts I have a tendency to open all pending blog posts from all authors at the same time and use the "histories" box, and the names of the previous blog posts, as an additional way to keep track of whose author I'm reading the post of without having to scroll up; I tend to also have a grasp of how many stories and followers each author I'm following has.
Thus, I believe it took less than a minute for me to notice that there was something wrong with the profiles, and as much time as it took to cycle through my tabs to notice which authors had switched profiles
(Heck, I got to the story link in your April 1st post, went to check Drift's page before reading the rest, came back to read the rest of the post, got the author's identity by the large Winter Bells image to the right, and immediately got confused about why Pen Stroke was writing about losing moderator status before I scrolled up and noticed the switch

If you want a Past Sins sequel, see Realitycheck's work. His storyline diverges with Penstroke's canon in Winter Bells and is labeled Alternate Universe as a result.
Still, the stories are great, despite his not-entirely-undeserved reputation for injecting his sociopolitical opinions and arguing with critics in the comments.

The sad part, it actually would of been nice to see a better story that fleshed that character out.
You and Opal made a good team. Not really wowed by the others, but the MQR system and Past Sins 2: Rise of Snowdrop and some becoming mods was pretty funny.
And, no, in case anyone misunderstood the discription on the Nyx thing I did, I didn't actually write that you endorsed it. Though not sure how many would notice the negative sign by that 100% implying it was done without express permission. :P
Anyhow, at least some people had fun yesterday. Many tend to be far too rigid and uptight to just go with the flow.
1975871 It would be more of an April Fools if you had actually written that story and just went all out with it like that one Jasonthehuman and Wanderer D fics/chapter they once did for said holiday. It would of been glorious.

everyone and their granny would like to see some form of continuation of past sins i think. eventaully nyx will grow up, and it is unlikely an alicorn would be content at simply living in a library, nor would the world around her let her i think.
Obs should have just written and posted Past Sins 2. I am so sad that didn't happen :(
