Changes and Announcements. · 5:26am Apr 1st, 2014
My fellow bronies and pegasisters, I bring you here today to have a little chat about how things have been going lately for me on the site, and what's going to be done about it.
The tl;dr version will be at the end if you're just that sorta impatient person.
To Love a Goddess, the story that 'put me on the map' and its sister story, To Love a Mortal are without much doubt my most popular/favorited/liked stories. I have promised a 3rd part, a multi-chapter long story many times.... but the pressure of thousands of people always asking me for it has finally gotten to me, not to mention it has been a long time.
Because of this, I am cancelling the 3rd part to TLAG and TLAM
I no longer have the desire to continue the tale of Artemis, and this has been put into my "Cancelled" folder. The pressure and passage of time have killed all desire to write.
Random Acts of Generosity and To Live Another Life are also on the chopping block.
These two got too popular, and the pressure from people to complete them and the screaming for moar has had the opposite effect. I feel bad for not updating, people ask for the next chapter, try to make it, I can't and feel worse for not delivering. And thus the cycle starts over.
For my own sanity, these two are going down too.
I've had some other revelations as of late too, in regards to what stories of mine and what trends are popular.
Cause face it, if you're not here for numbers then what else is there to do? I want that top 50 spot, dammit.
I'm going to be focusing on one-shots, and expanding into clop territory. I've met reasonable success with the former, and hope to skyrocket in the stats department with the latter.
In addition to taking the proverbial axe to some stories, I am toning down on my fun blogs.
The simple fact is that they are hard to do right, and nobody gives a fuck about them.
So don't expect blogs with anything but short bits of news and updates. I won't have time for blogs anymore.
TL;DR In closing, some stories got canned, blogs will be going away, and I'm moving into one-shots w/clop

God damnit it's 5 AM so I wasn't paying attention to the date. Was about to comment and rage then I read the other comments. I hate you so much.
First thought through my mind:
You just sounded your own death knoll, buddy
Second thought through my mind:
F*CKU, APRIL FOOLS!!!!
You almost had me there for a bit.
Even if it was a April fools thing, the bit about the blog post thing made me think.
When you blog post, do you get a notification on how many people read it? It hit me that I just read many of the blog posts directly in my news feed without actually going "into" the blog post itself.
This probably majorly F's up any accurate tracking authors have of blog popularity?
1972382 To answer your question, no you do not. You only get notifications on comments on it. That said, those comment notifications can usually be a good indicator of how many views you have without even looking. More comments, typically the more views.

I think he was legitimately venting how he feels about blogs and the pressure of his stories at some points in there. I know I would.
I decided to come back on the site, and this is what I see.
goddamn it.
GODDAMN IT.
ed, we need to work on your jokes
but still hilarious.

Gotcha, thanks.
I was kind of scared at first, but as I kept reading I knew it was an April fools joke. probably a good thing too, because this would be a very sad day if you were serious.
Kickin' it in 3...2...1...GO!
YOU'RE WELCOME!!!
Ahhhhhh... even if this was true, the positives of those alone would certainly outweigh the negatives.
If you'd stopped after the story announcements I might have been fooled.
With asterisk.
