Well, I'm just making an assumption here and it's a pretty big assumption at that, but I'm thinking that one of the keys for the lock box has been found, by Applejack no less. I feel as if the keys aren't really keys at all, but kind of like the pieces of eight from Pirates of the Caribbean, random assorted and various items given to each character for their respective past element, but each has a deeper meaning behind them. If my assumption is correct, then I'm guessing that each time one of the Mane6's eyes flash with a rainbow, discovering something more about their past element, a key might be discovered.
I think the coin Applejack received from the Flim Flam brothers' assistant is one of these "Pieces of 6" shall we say, but now it has me pondering a bit. Since Pinkie already had her "Flash" in the Pinkie Pride episode, what would her item be? Maybe she's already discovered it, maybe she hasn't. Either way, this is my theory.
If you had to guess, and if my theory is correct, what do you think the other pieces would be? They could be an assortment of things, and the possibilities could be endless. Though they could range from a grand assortment of items, here are my guesses.
Twilight: Gold Tiara, for leading her friends into victory after a dark time and showing her leadership has grown within her time in Ponyville.
Fluttershy: Flower, for remaining calm and collected while retaining anger towards another pony.
Rainbow Dash: Heart locket, for remaining loyal to her friends through a tough and indecisive time.
Pinkie Pie: Boneless, for deciding to forfeit the Goof-off after realizing her friend wasn't having fun at all.
Rarity: Ruby heart, for sacrificing something she truly adores to help her friends in a time of need.
Applejack: Gold Coin, for telling the truth after lying to everyone so she could spare their feelings and hopes.
There are my guesses and my theory, so yeah. That's it.
