I've hit 5k words and it's still kinda far from finished. I estimate it would hit around 6.5k words when I'm done, but I don't know how long it'd take...

I mentioned in a previous blog post that I wanted to do something like a blog series about RariPie moments in canon. So let's begin where everything began, which is the beginning:
S1 E1-2 Friendship is Magic
I used to wonder what "shipping" could be,
Until you all shared its magic with me!
Okay, so from the very opening sequence itself, we see Pinkie Pie bouncing beside Rarity. That totally doesn't mean anything, of course. They're all just good friends there. Yep.
We don't see Pinkie Pie jumping on Rarity until the Season 4 opening, but she must've snuck it here just before the shutter clicked.
And a little side note: I notice just now how Rainbow is positioned there relative to Twilight. Huh.
Here is the first shot of everypony together. Twilight's so happy to see them, she downed a bottle of hot sauce just like that.
Then Pinkie Pie eats a cupcake slobbered in hot sauce. Which is totally awesome and yummy, though I've only tried that with ice cream before.
Anyway, what's curious about this scene happens in the next couple of frames.
Dat smile.
Just where are you looking, Rarity?
Okay, I think I get it now.
When Pinkie Pie starts singing, things get really weird. Ponies just bursting into song? Who does that?
Of course, when Twilight questions this, it's Rarity who answers. Her expression and her tone seems to say "I'm too used to this."
And of course, the day is saved! Thanks to the Power Pone Girls weaponized friendship.

Actually, I relate best to Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, odd as that may seem 'cause they're pretty much polar opposites.
