    So... This Happened Yesterday.

    This movie's gonna rock!

You know, this reminds me, I have a Star Wars fic somewhere on here. I should get back to writing that.

Also, Fimfic apparently suffered from a DDoS or something. I dunno.

Regarding Among Gods' Potential on EQD · 3:30pm Mar 23rd, 2014

Howdy folks! Sorry for my sudden leave of absence! Midterms are in full swing for me, so I've had little time to work on Among Gods. Fortunately, everything should clear up by next week. So expect the next chapter by then.

With that out of the way, I thought I should discuss Among Gods and its potential on sites like Equestria Daily. Personally, I've always liked Equestria Daily. While I believe the site has its problems, the blog's staff do an overall nice job showcasing standout work from the Brony community. However, one issue that I have noticed far too many times is regarding the site's policies on fan fic submissions. I have heard numerous nightmare stories about fellow writers butting heads with EQD's pre-readers. Stories about how the pre-readers put too much emphasis on grammar corrections and even downright accusations of bias among the staff. This bias varied wildly from certain genre preferences to even preferred shipping pairs!

Naturally, all these tales scared me. I'm all for accepting criticism if it means I can make a better product, but not when it comes from a broken resource like this. Recently, I was pointed to this article on EQD. Basically, it was an apology from one of the site's staff regarding these matters. It's a really impressive write-up on where fan fics have been on EQD and where they're going. I recommend giving it a read if you've got the time.

This got me thinking about Among Gods and if it ever had potential to be featured on EQD. Personally, I never really cared for submitting my works to a site like that. Not because of any rumors or accusations of bias, but because I'm afraid of my work not being good enough. If you've seen my other works featured on my profile, you'd see that my writings generally stick to a particular genre. That's really because I just like to write crossovers. I like the idea of juxtaposing the fun, caring nature of FiM with something tense and action-packed as the DC Universe or Halo. I like dissecting how the two universes define their natures of morality and how they apply those dissections to those overall themes. I like having these two separate ideas interact with each other in odd and unusual, yet strangely fitting ways. This, I feel, has no right to be on EQD with the likes of Fallout Equestria or Past Sins. While some of you might disagree, this is ultimately my choice. My kind of work is too specific of a niche to belong on EQD. I still love visiting the site, but I won't attempt to share my work there. To me, getting featured on EQD would be the equivalent of having "The New York Times Best Seller!" plastered onto your book. It's great if it happens, but it's really not a big deal otherwise. It just means your work was popular enough to warrant some merit of recognition.

Anyway, I need to get back to studying for midterms. Expect the next Among Gods chapter soon! It'll get done, I promise! Sorry to keep you folks waiting!
