Every author ever now has a better shot at getting featured on EQD · 2:46am Mar 23rd, 2014
EQD recently posted a blurb about some massive changes in their submission system. To me, it sounded like good news for optimistic authors everywhere, so I thought I'd blog about it case some of you missed it.
If you don't feel like reading the whole thing, here are the parts I found to be the most significant.
1. The three strike system is gone, for the most part. You can submit any story, regardless of previous strikes, again if you feel so inclined.
2. The grammar requirements are now more lax. The main focuses are now "readability" and "consistency".
3. You won't automatically get feedback along with your rejections anymore (that part actually went into effect a little while ago) but you can now more easily ask questions and express concerns via email.
My personal reaction: I'm glad about this. One of my stories has had two strikes for ages, and I could never bring myself to submit a third time and risk "permanent failure". (A silly way of seeing it, in retrospect) Now, I feel encouraged to go for it again. You might as well do the same. You've really got nothing to lose by trying.
Good luck!

Huh.
Well, this is new...
Doesn't affect me, though; all my stories are already there We can both be proud, you and I, for we made it when their standards had hit an all-time high.
Definitely good news for other authors. I just wonder how this will affect the actual impact that a story feature makes. My latest one hardly gained much attention at all as it happened.
