First big fan-fic endeavor. [Update] · 12:07am Mar 22nd, 2014
Hello to all/any!
Today/tomorrow will mark the beginning of my longest (mlp related) fan fiction ever. I don't know how well it will go over yet with my readers (since I haven't started yet), but I believe that they will be very pleased. To the best of my knowledge, this particular story will be a first of it's kind, hopefully rivaling stories like "Anthropology" and other ground breakers like it. I should note however, (for those that focus on/love the mane six) that this story will attempt to be almost entirely background pony driven, with only mentions/interactions with the mane six as necessary. Also, I'm contemplating whether or not to include death in this story, so be prepared for that (guarantee no mane six will die, nor typical ships...hopefully).
The longest fan fiction that I've written to date, consisted of over 45,000+ words, and more than 190 pages of text. While I don't know how many pages this new story would fill up, I at least plan to break the word count by an additional 10,000 words.
I've had this story idea in mind, since back when I started writing "My Little Journal", but haven't been able to find the motivation/full inspiration, until now. I plan to use the same type of writing style as with my most recent "The Muffin House Rules", since it seemed to get my some of my best feedback, but I'll have to see, once I finish the research that I'm putting into this. Yes, that's right, I'm doing research for a fan fiction. As crazy as it sounds, I believe that it is necessary, so as to engulf the reader in as much detail as possible.
I'm still debating on a word count limit to reach, but due to the goals that I've set for myself so far, for this endeavor, you can expect this story to take a while to finish. As I stated before in my first blog, the amount of time that I have (give myself) for writing, is at least every weekend, and whenever I can during the week days. As such, the expected completion date for this story will hopefully be sometime late April/early May. Either way, I'll strive to work on it as much as possible, so stay tuned for updates as they come in.
That about wraps everything up that I wanted to talk about. I can't very well reveal any spoilers about the story yet, but I can say that it revolves around the supposed life of a certain background pony, and how that pony, and their "family" reacts to those around them.

[Update]
Not really much of an update, but more like a slight disappointment on my part.
The prep work is finally done (knock on wood, cross fingers, do superstitions dance/chant)! After working practically 24 hours, I believe that I'm finally ready to start writing! However, my mind is burnt as of right now, and there's not enough time left in the day for me to knock out a chapter the way I would like (i.e. I really need some sleep). I'll kick myself in the butt if I go back on it, but expect the first chapter tomorrow! I'm sure you will all like the story, and if not, please let me know why. Either way, after all the work I've put into this so far, I'll write it all to the end no matter what.
