[POLL] RwR Asides and the Prestige Edition · 11:44pm Mar 19th, 2014
It's already known that I have a selection of filler material in the works for Rain without Rainbows, which I affectionately dub Asides. While some are slated to be seen here on FIMfic, others are meant to be exclusive for the Prestige Edition, adding to the experience gained from it. But lately I've been debating the best way to go about it when it comes to all of these side-stories.
I'm of two minds about the nature of including the Asides for the Prestige Edition. My original plan was to place them all after the eighteenth chapter, in their own section, like how a fan-work of an original story would normally go. Lately, however, I've been entertaining the idea of mixing the Asides into the Prestige Edition - and even seamlessly incorporating them into their appropriate chapters when possible.
The sequence of events, therefore, would be like this:
0: Not Yet Ablaze
1: Prologue, and The Wishmaster
2: Tryouts
3: No More Dreams
4: A World without Rainbows, and Mysteries Solved
5: Bitter Truth, and Lost Cause
6: Assault
7: A Dark Tree
8: Blame Where Blame is Due
9: The Need, and When We were Young
10: The Root
11: Defiance
12: I Want to Blame You
13: Still I Grieve
14: Seed of Darkness
15: The Eclipse
16: Conflagration
17: Harmony
18: Kindred Spirits
19: Where Land Meets Sky
20: Dying Embers 1: Smothering the Blaze
21: Dying Embers 2: Fading Glow
22: Dying Embers 3: Warmth
23: Dying Embers 4: Ashes
It's either this new way, or keeping them all at the end and leaving the original chapter sequence alone. So I'm looking for opinions... What do you guys think is a better move? Use this new, Aside-added method? Or stick to my guns and leave them at the end?
Also, I can't provide any cute pony in today's blog because I just typed this whole thing on my phone. I need new thumbs.

I think if they fit in fairly organically then they should be intermingled in the story itself. If it's an in between chapter thing maybe consider naming them like "Intermission 1: Next Time It's Personal", "Intermission 2: The Reckoning" and so forth. If they are scene sized then wherever in existing chapters would work better I think.
That being said this route is a lot more work but I feel it would be the much better payoff.
