HamGravy

Author of the Tarnished Silver series. I write clopfics with too many emotions in them. My work is very niche, but my readers are a wonderfully enthusiastic bunch, so I must be doing something right?

    10 Years Later

    Suddenly!

    ...anyone still here?

Hi, everybody. I doubt anyone else has even noticed, nor would I expect them to, but ten years ago today, I uploaded a weird little clop story called Tarnished Silver to this site.

Tarnished Silver: The Audiobook (Plus: foreign language editions, and a teaser for something new!)

FACT: In our busy modern world of smartphones and red pandas, few of us have time to sit down and read books, let alone morally questionable horse fanfiction. Thus we have seen the meteoric rise of the audiobook, which allows people to take in a story while doing something else, like flying a jet between two narrow canyons under heavy enemy fire, or jogging. But until now, there's been no

    "Baby Steps"

Those two words in yesterday's episode managed to completely redefine the episode, and possibly the character of Fluttershy, for me. I think they might be the two most important words she's ever spoken. Here's why.

A new story is coming tomorrow!

Why yes, I am a shameless whore , thank you for noticing.

Tomorrow afternoon (that's Friday CST, people of the world) the internet will be forced to endure another entry in the Tarnished Silver canon. It's a one-shot, but I'm actually quite pleased with it, which is something I don't usually say about my own writing.

Tarnished Silver: The Audiobook (Plus: foreign language editions, and a teaser for something new!) · 10:29am Mar 19th, 2014

But until now, there's been no outlet for Tarnished Silver readers to engage in this pastime. What's a person to do?

Oh sure, you could hire James Earl Jones to read the story to you, along with the complete original MLP cast reprising their respective characters. But who has the time to make all those phone calls? Screw that. Luckily, one talented and intrepid reader is here to sort this nonsense out.

The Mystery Fluttershy Fan is an awesome fellow who has been following my work almost since the start. And now he's undertaken the task of recording the entire main series, chapter by chapter, on his Youtube channel. My thanks go out to him! If really do want to do the audiobook thing, you can head here to rip the audio into an mp3, then stick them in your iPod or phone.

EDIT: THERE ARE MP3 LINKS IN THE DESCRIPTION OF EACH VIDEO! Somehow I missed that. :twilightsheepish:

Maude likes to look at pictures of quarries during the sex scenes.

As of this writing, he's made it up to the end of Twisted, and is planning on diving into the giant mess of colliding plotlines that is A Silver Sky before long.

Here is his channel's Tarnished Silver page. Go give it a listen!

In other, more Cyrillic news, over the past couple of months various wonderful people have been translating my early stories into all sorts of different languages. Which, I have to say, is damn awesome, and a huge honor. I certainly never expected that people would like these stories enough to try and share them with a global audience. At this rate, Tarnished Silver will overrun the world!

NO WAIT THIS WAS A HORRIBLE IDEA.

At the moment Raritys Garden has versions up in French, Russian, Italian, and Spanish. And Tarnished Silver has a Russian version. If you can read them, go check them out! Personally I can only understand the Spanish version, but I'm super-grateful for all of them.

Oh, and BY THE WAY...I've begun work a new side story. It's not going to be a particularly long one, but it is one which people have been asking to see for a while. It concerns the life of a little filly, growing up in a very strange family. Right now it's in a very early stage, and I don't have a huge amount of free time for writing, but please keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks. There are a few loose ends still left from the ending of A Silver Sky, but this one should tie them up nicely.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed all these awesome fanworks! See you all soon!

"Hamgravy put me in charge of his writing schedule. I tried to make it realistic, so it's basically just the word 'procrastinate' written seventy times in a row."

cool idea, I'll check it out.

and i cant wait to see what else you come up with.

... have now checked it out...
please note that the voice actor and sound guy of who ever did this have my respect and admiration ..:scootangel:
the quality is really good, and the actor has a crazy good voice

Oh sure, you could hire James Earl Jones to read the story to you, along with the complete original MLP cast reprising their respective characters.

Normally I'd say that the cast of MLP voice actors would never do voiceovers for a story like this, but... You'd be surprised at the sort of shit that some voice actors have done in the past.

Dr. Eggman, for example...

It concerns the life of a little filly, growing up in a very strange family.

Do I sense an incoming Indigo Dream side-story?! I hope I do!

Mhm-mhm. Never been a fan of some random guy reading dirty stories to me anyways, but — I fancy the second part of the post. It's quite lovely that translators' work is being acknowledged. Never had the talent of translating the detailed dirty descriptions despite enjoying reading them and the tremendous experience in translating everything else. Glad there are still people who can satisfy the... darker needs of the non-English-speaking fandom.

Alright a new update! :raritywink:
It has been like 3.5 weeks since your last post on your authors page, I was beginning to miss you!:pinkiesad2:
I am very glad this series is still going strong, and we have a audio book in the works! Maybe one day an ambitious flash animator will find this series and turn Rarity's Garden into a movie!

I would really like this series to become a well-known part of the Fandom, like Cupcakes, Rainbow Factory, or My Little Dashie has.

Looking forwards to the Baby DewDrops Story.

Thank you for shouting me out :)

Also it might be helpful if let everyone know that there are links in the description of each youtube reading to Mp3 downloads on mediafirem, these are in higher quality then the ones on youtube.

It was a honour and a lot of fun to read such a fantastic story.

That last part, with the "writing schedule", just made me laugh out loud.

I'm really enjoying your readings of them.
I especially like that twist sounds like Forest Gump :')
