"At This Festive Season Of The Year..." · 11:46pm Dec 22nd, 2011
That's a heckuva lotta people following me. I'm happy that my scrawlings have apparently reached so many (Binky Pie was at over 30,000 total views on FiMFic/Fanfiction.net last I checked), and more so for those who found 'em funny. There was a short debate on one of the pony-related IRC channels a while ago over what should be our motivation to write, as authors. One person put forward that we shouldn't write unless we have a purpose and an idea to communicate with our readers, but I don't think that's the only reason. Personally, I write to entertain, both myself and everyone who reads it. It's why I favour comedy over the other genres (though I do try my hoof at other things, like Fleurdeliser), and why I'm always pleased to see people enjoying it and getting my sometimes bizarre sense of humour.
So I'd like to wish everyone a slightly early Merry [Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Hearth's Warming] (choose one), and a Happy New Year! I plan to complete Binky Pie and Pony of the Opera over the holidays (although perhaps that's a little ambitious), and then focus on other stories, like the continuation of Fleurdeliser and a new one I've been planning. (Hint: It contains lots of sugar).
Don't bite off more than you can chew for the holidays, mate.
Bravo sir, bravo!
I will eagerly await whatever you care to write. As for myself, I write just because there are ideas that want out of my head, and I hope someone out there enjoys them.
2292 I'm the same way bro.
