Going quiet again for a bit

I've uploaded what I had left in my notbook, so I now get to start a new notebook with the remainder of the story. With that in mind, it will probably be a few months at least until I upload another chapter. But at least it won't be something crazy like a seven year gap. Thanks for reading this far, and hopefully we'll be able to wrap this up soon.

One last time into the breach

I'd hold off on re-reading this story until you see the flag flip from incomplete to complete. Not only will it be a bit to finish off the last section, but I'm also going back and editing the already posted chapters to improve their readability and fix some of the error pointed out to me. Hopefully I won't George Lucas it too bad.

    Recalibrating

Well, I just updated. Sorry it took so long I just didn't feel like writing for a couple of months. To be honest, while there are a lot of good points to this chapter, on the whole, I don't like it. I just posted it because I simply can't read it any longer. Hopefully you guys don't hate it too much. But at last I can finally, finally move my mind out of the guest rooms of the Canterlot Palace

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum

Sorry for not being there for you. You know, to update stories and stuff. Unfortunately I had to put my writing on hold in order to focus on studying for my RHCE exam. On the plus side, I'm now RHCE certified. So I can do such things as setup an ftp server, create multiple virtual hosts to serve different web sites off a single web server, create a samba server, and more. All in two hours or

    One of these days

Due to my disatisfaction with what I've written thus far, I'm going back and rewriting the begining of side B. Again. Hopefully I'll be able to do it well this time. Hopefully this won't be too long a process, but I make no promises. I'm also studying for the RHCE certification, which I need to take in the next month or so, and that will detract some from my time. I need to brush up on postfix,

Most things haven't worked out · 3:57pm Mar 5th, 2014

I'm very close to having Side B fully drafted out on paper, and the majority of it has already been typed out. I'm optimistic that I'll have it all written to a level that I don't hate by this weekend and sent to the editors, if I have any editors still, either this weekend, or next. I had thought that I'd split side A and side B roughly equally, however side B is about twice as long as side A is. I suppose when I write well I'm brief, and when I don't write well, I hide the fact by adding more and more words. So, look forward to that I guess.

In other news, I just got a promotion. Yay. On an unrelated note, I highly recommend that you don't make the mistake of not trying for what you wanted to do in life and instead persue a career you're only marginally interested in but which is much more stable and lucrative. Yes you're more successful by a conventional measure, but often when you have to make the choice between security and happiness, no matter which you choose, the other will have been the right one.

Anyway, ponies soon fellow Stalker.

EDIT:

Thanks to being away from work, at training for the rhce certification, I've just finished the initial draft of side B. It's looking to be around 25k words long, 16k of which have already been converted to electronic format. I don't like the first half, but it's better than it once was. I do like the second half. Hopefully you'll average the two when you read them.

Thank you for your congratulations on my promotion. I'm now even more firmly entrenched in the bourgeois and find myself actually owing money to the IRS on my income tax statement. So double yay.

Well for you more words=less quality, but for us more words=more fun, so I'm quite happy for this :pinkiehappy:

As for the job, I'm your opposite: by pursuing my dreamed job I found myself wondering If I just would have stuck with the more straightforward but much less interesting option, since 5 years latter I'm still struggling to succeed...

Conga-rats on the promotion. :pinkiehappy: I have to agree with Graf. More words = more enjoyment, as it means lots of good reading.

I'm sorry to hear that you're still struggling. I know that it's difficult to pursue your dream. Often you're not the only one with it, and so you must struggle against many others for what both of you want.

Personally I'm of the opinion that the grass is always greener. Those of us who persue comfort and conventional success often wonder if we'd of been happier chasing after our dreams, while those of us who chase after our dreams often wonder if the struggle to survive and prosper is worth it, and look fondly at others who are living comfortably. I don't know whether either option is better, or if there is an answer.

Well, initial projections are looking like around 25,000 words for side B, so hopefully that's enough enjoyment to last you a while. A long while, because I have no idea how long part 3c will take to put together.

1904319 Don't know either, but it always makes you wonder...

Oh yeah and congratulations on the promotion! :yay:

grats on your job situation and life, once you can update again I'll have to re-read your story as I remember it being amazing, but well...its been awhile. : )

It seems I am a bit late to the party, but congratulations from me, too.
And 25k words sound lovely. I am confident I will like them as much as the rest.
