Salvation update, and a deployment update · 11:54pm Mar 1st, 2014
Many of you who follow me know that I'm very much event-driven. That is, when something happens that catches my attention, it also tends to direct my actions for a bit.
So, when some people got to talking with me about Salvation the other day, I felt an almost magnetic draw back to that story. End result? New chapter! It's meant to be read with the previous chapter, which should be obvious from the title.
We're getting near the end of the unabridged version of Salvation, for those of you keeping score. A few more chapters at most, I'd say, then it's back to other projects like my Wind Thief sequel.
In case you're interested, the RariDash group has been discussing Salvation lately. They call it the 'quintessential' RariDash fic, which just tickled me pink to hear.
Anyway, deployments. I'll be doing some travel this week, visiting my family, and next weekend I'll actually start my travel overseas. I may not be around as much until I get settled in Afghanistan.
Godspeed and be careful. I selfishly do not want to see a really good writer like you lost to the world.
I think when Salvation finishes I will be done with my life.
Seriously. If I had a fraction of the skill in eliciting emotional reactions that you demonstrate with that story I would write every second of every day.
Good luck! Enjoy the free time!
Are you suggesting that bothering authors to update particular fics actually works? Fool! You will never again experience a moment of peace! On a related note, I need to go track down Varanus.
Yay! Can't wait until you've finished this one up. And the Wind Thief sequel. And whatever story you do after that. Suppose I should just shorten that to: I really like it when you write stuff and show it to us.
The quintessential RariDash fic? Well, when you consider the completely objective fact that RariDash is the best ship...
Dude, Salvation is the Raridash fic. Everybody else, myself included, are shadows on the wall of it's platonic light or something. yeah that sounds smart.
anyhow
Godspeeeed.
I hope your travels have been gentle, and Afghanistan finds you well and safe. We'll be looking forward to having you back.
