Episode review: Three's a crowd

Twilight is excited to spend the day with her sister in law Candace at the Starswirl the bearded traveling museum!

But then trouble comes along when a sick Discord arrives!

He has blue Flu! and when the rest of the gang is either distracted, infected, unable, or simply unwilling to care for Discord

And Discord questions who's left to take care of him?

Discord interrupts the two princess at the exhibit, Cadance protects them from a sneeze with a magic health bubble spell and after a bit of whining Discord manages to convince Twilight to let him stay with her until he gets better. Discord assures the two princess he'll be fine just knowing he has Twilight to take care of him and seems to free them to return to the exhibit but first he has a small request...

The princess's agree to take care of the "small request" and return to the exhibit. Folks we're about to both see Discord at work and get that sining debut we were promised, Hit it Discord!

Getting annoyed Twilight seeks a cure for Discord and he tells her about a magic plant that grows on the edge of Equestria that has the power to cure him, the princess take Discord to the edge of Equestria and the princess find the plant which turns out to be giant and when the pick it with magic this guy shows up!

The princess are able to defeat the worm and return to Discord who is no longer blue and dancing having faked being sick! Discord explains that he'd been testing his friendship with Twilight and she passed!

Twilight is upset about having wasted her time with Cadance for nothing but the Alicorn of love tells her that the relaxation from the exhibit would've been the last thing she needed, while life in the Crystal Empire was lovely it'd become predictable and she'd had a grand time experiencing all the excitement of the day and doing it with Twilight made it all the better. Suddenly the worm emerges again, Discord jumps into Twilight's hooves (implying he didn't know about the dangerous beast at least) the worm sneezes on the trio, Twilight and Cadance are protected by the health bubble but Discord isn't so lucky...

Twilight writes a journal entry about how good friends can make the most chaotic day special, Fluttershy cares for the now really sick Discord and the spirit of chaos asks Twilight for one more request, Twilight is quick to say no and Discord defends he was simply going to ask for a glass of water....

This episode clears up several things, Discord is NOT living with Fluttershy he has his own place, Cadance and Twilight are in-laws, Pinkie was born on a Tuesday, and Discord and Fluttershy have been in contact through letters. Pinkie was a little off in this episode, the writers seem to have confused her playfulness for ignorance as she is easily distracted by balloons, the musical number was more sing talking then anything else but still good, we're set up for the episode "It Ain't Easy Being Breezies", the episode was well paced, and as usual with the presence of Discord on the chaotic side, and speaking of Discord this episode illustrates he still has a lot to learn about friendship as he was not above manipulating Twilight and even seemed disapointed that he did'nt ruin her day with Cadance, he'd got a lot to learn....

But he's got a great teacher. Over all...... -A!
