Okay, so the story is finished.
As it stands now, I'm pretty sure its crap. Which is...a surprisingly good thing, actually!
It means I'll be able to learn a lot from how people respond to it.
However, I still do want to produce something that won't make people try to claw out their own eyeballs. So, for now, it's in The Great Edit Cycle in the Sky. I'll probably publish a bit more than week from now.
One thing I've already learnt, though, is that I have words I use a lot, and that my prose is so purple it's actually ultraviolet (I'm gonna call that a feature, not a bug, and I dare anyone to prove me wrong :-P ).
That's something I'd never have anticipated on my own. And it ties into the theme of the story itself, funnily enough.
In any case, great thanks to Isseus for convincing me not to release it unfiltered into the world, and to beeminder for actually making me get off my ass and writing it.
(or, um, onto my ass, since I was sitting when I wrote it).
