An update (at last!) · 11:12am Feb 20th, 2014
Wow, feels like forever since I've posted a blog entry, let alone given any updates or shown life signs. Those who read these may remember that I mentioned something back in summer (I feel terrible now) about a story in progress involving Fluttershy, Rarity and a whole lot of sand. Unfortunately, since my last semester at university was an extremely busy time, all my writing ground to a complete halt. I didn't manage to write a single word on any story for the entire past half year. Not. One. Word.
That didn't stop my mind from coming up with a slew of ideas, though, oh no. However, the fickle little thing decided to shift its focus, and when I did manage to get back into writing again, it was on a different story, and with ideas piled up for another two or three other stories in addition to poor old Sand languishing in development hell.
The good news? This new story I've been working on is currently sitting on three completed chapters (except perhaps for a final editing pass) of something between 5-6k words each, with the fourth chapter being well under way as well. The story focuses on everyone's favourite dependable pony (spoiler: it's Applejack) and a meeting with her newly-discovered cousin Pinkie Pie's family of rock farmers. It'll be a more down-to-earth story rather than a grand adventure; I'm saving that for later.
Before I begin releasing the story, I'd like to have four, maybe five chapters ready to be published as a buffer so that I can keep to an at least semi-regular updating schedule and not have a drought for a month or more if I suddenly get pressed for time due to studies. Luckily, I've got the excellent Karrakaz helping me polish the story and ensuring that it is coherent. It does wonders for keeping me on track.
I'm very excited to finally get back into the swing of things. I just hope you guys who have been waiting patiently for me to get my lazy butt in gear and release something can bear with me for just a little while longer.
well I am excited.
And as it was foretold, the Great Dreamer rouse from the Sea of Busy Education Scheludes, and the thing in it's hands, was The Great Story.
And Upvotes followed within.
Finally we are hearing of you, I for one was starting to get worried! 'Tis a pity that the story-that-was-supposed-to-be, is stuck in development hell, But at least you come with glad tidings of great joy, of a new story! To be honest, as much fun the adventure stories are, I personally like Slice o' Life a bit more.
Hope we will hear about your new story soon!
