Let me get one quick thing out of the way:
I'm about to start going through all my stories and reformatting them so that author's notes are where they should be, given the changes to the system since many of them were written and posted. There will probably also be a bit of editing done to most of them to correct any clumsy narrative phrasing or grammatical errors I run across. No changes to the events of the stories themselves will occur, however.
Now, for the main event.
I'm doing a Chrysalis series. I liked writing about her so much in "Change of Hearts" that I can't resist doing a bit more with her. However, keep in mind that this will NOT be like "The Misadventures of Derpy Hooves," content-wise. I write those fics specifically for bronies that want to keep Equestria idyllic in their own minds and hearts. I, however, am too far gone to tell the story I want to tell within the limitations I set for myself in the "Misadventures." Given the nature of what Queen Chrysalis really is, if I am to write this and not betray myself intellectually, the gloves have to come off. I will try to keep these to what I consider a "Teen" rating, but if it comes down to it, I'll take the plunge into "Mature" territory before I'll compromise what I mean to do with this.
I won't reveal too many details, but I'm already quite a few thousand words into the first one, and have a basic outline for the rest of it. I expect at least one more will follow, perhaps two. However many iterations are released, no part of any will be published until that entire piece is finished and edited.
This may take only a few months to complete in its entirety, and it may take me several years. I will only be working on it when and if I am enjoying it. If that seems taciturn, keep in mind that I don't get paid for writing these things, and to be honest, my lengthier, more serious work doesn't ever get enough views to justify the effort I put into it, unless I am thoroughly enjoying the process of writing it.
So, here's hoping I can get at least one good volume of this completed and published some time soon.
Best of luck!
Gloves are off, plunge away. Looking forward to it, seems you share my philosophy of writing only when you're having fun doing so.
