My next story will be finished within the coming week, so be on the lookout for it! It's entitled Punch Drunk and once again revolves around the backstory and tragic life of a background character. I hope this one will be as good, if not better than Barking Mad. Here's a little preview:
Dr. Stable stands outside of Room 126 and magically flips through some patient rosters on his clipboard. He finally comes across the profiles for the room’s two occupants. “Let's see, Rainbow Dash... minor fractures in her left humerus... not fatal,” he says to himself. “I see no reason why she needs to stay here much longer. I’ll have her check out tomorrow.”
He flips to the other occupant’s page. His eyes shrink as he sees the name and recalls the burden that the name carries. He shudders and thinks to himself, “Calm down. You have to do this.”
Dr. Stable enters Room 126, closing the door slowly behind him. His looks around; his eyes land on an almost entirely bandaged earth stallion. He is staring vacantly out the room’s lone window, rapt in deep thought. The only parts of the stallion free from bandages are his soulless eyes, a bit of his deep pink colored torso, and one of his hooves, which is dangling lifeless over the side of the cot. The visible section of the stallion’s side is littered by disheveled coat hairs; he is slowly losing his hair in that area. His right foreleg is bent slightly, even though it is laying in a sling attached to the ceiling. The stallion is, for lack of a better word, a mess. Stable grimaces and quickly turns away, unable to bear the sight of the mangled pony. “Get ahold of yourself Stable. You’ve done this countless times before...” he mutters to himself. “Doesn't make it any easier...”
